Motor wires from ESC
Good news...
The motor wires coming from the KKIII Pro are extended by several inches and plenty of room for all installations. There was an issue with them previously being too short, especially for Goblins, but this has been resolved.

Thanks...
The motor wire length while not an issue for all helis, definately seemed to be for the goblins due to where the esc is mounted. While one could argue that motor wires werent long enough, its just easier to lengthen the esc wires during manufacturing.

I've said it before and I will say it again, no ESC that costs more than $150 should have hardwired leads. Kontronik got it right and I don't see why other expensive ESCs have not followed suit (except the Castle Talon and in that case it's their cheaper ESC that has replaceable motor wires)
I mean seriously, ring lugs or cup terminals are not that expensive. Hell cup terminals have been the standard on RC car ESCs since forever. Female bullet plugs or ring terminals or cup terminals for the motor leads and ring terminals or cup terminals for the battery wires (there are solid reasons not to use female bullet plugs here) should be the standard for any ESC that costs over $150. |
