Question 14SG mapping switches to Skookum 720BE

I am having trouble mapping the SB and SC switches to the AUX 2 and AUX 4 in my Skookum 720 software. I want these switches to control the GPS functions 1 & 2 in the Skookum GPS.

One issue, some areas list the 14SG switches 1-12, and the book refers to them as 2 letter acronyms. Unless all start with "S", then A, B, C, D, etc., unless you are suppose to refer them to 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. or S1, S2, S3, S4, etc.,

Not trying to confuse anyone, I am just wanting to map the SB and SC to Aux 2 & 4 in the Skookum GPS Software Control Panel.

I am using the 7008 Futaba receiver linked to the Skookum 720 via a SBUS cable. (one cable-Fasttest mode) All functions are working fine, just need to get the switches mapped, and I should be ready for flight testing.

I believe I am close, but not there as of this post.

Thanks, Dennis

PS: This videos I watched helped alot, I just want to be sure. I have tried several things, but it's not working.

You need to know what channel number your Skookum is listening to for your AUX2 and AUX4.

For instance, if AUX2 is listening to channel 9 and AUX4 is on channel 10
On your 14SG in the LNK - Functions
Assign a function to channel 9 and another to channel 10
The fuction names here have nothing to do with the names on the Skookum, so use any funtions not already assigned to a channel.
For simplicities sake let's say that your 14sg does not have AUX2 and Aux4 in use.
Assign AUX2 to channel 9 and next to the function name choose the switch you want to use for this.
Then assign AUX4 to channel 10 and set its switch.

Once completed go to the Servo menu under LNK, or press the U.Menu/Mon button, and test the switches to see if they work on the desired channels.

You then probably have the means to see the channel activity in your Skookum software.

That's the issue, AUX 2 & 4 are not in use, so I see no action on the 14SG. If I did, it wouldn't be a problem for me.

So just pick a not in use channel, assign it to Aux 2 or 4, then pick the switch which will be either SB (AUX 4) and SC (AUX2).

I managed to assign the SL to one of the switches, I am sure I am close, I will try tonight and keep my fingers crossed. I know it's something simple, but this is my first experience with a 14SG, and putting it on a Trex 700, well, I want to be exactly sure it's set right.

I am pretty sure I understand what your saying, it's just me getting use to it. So far, I am impressed with the 14SG and what you can do with it, and not even getting into the SBUS Servo's!

Thanks, Dennis

PS: If something doesn't sound right, let me know.

It seems like everything is working Ok now, thanks for all the great advice.
