Very nice build log! Where can I get the standoffs for the NAZA? I already have the carbon plates. I'm state side btw.

You can get them from your local electronics store.

I'm waiting for my Little Spyder now and am going to stretch it a little but not as much as you, I am going to put the rear arms on the front and make some new rears, this makes the frame a 570 rather than a 450 so will take larger props. I would like to make the most of the standard motor mounts so was thinking of T-Motor MT3506 650KV motors running 11" or 12" props on 4s in X4 configuration, does that sound like a sensible option for a little more duration?

Actually, thinking about my last post and doing some maths, I reckon the MN3510 700KV would be a better bet, the MT3506 wouldn't provide enough power and strangely there doesn't seem to be a MT3510 in the range??

The rear arms are the same size as the SH 700 front arms.
I've used MT 700Kv on mine on 4S.

I liked this build so much, I tried to duplicate it. She's all built but I'm having trouble getting the Naza M v2 to play nice with the H3-3D in octo-rotor config. I'm using a Spektrum AR8000 with a first gen DX-18.

In the setup software, when I try to turn on the gimbal, I get "Gimbal function open failed, Octo-rotor not support gimbal!". I've been searching high and low for a fix but to no avail. How did you do it?

I know this thread is becoming a bit long in the tooth, but I recently purchased a Little Spyder clone, with 480mm size instead of the stock 450. I am trying to decide on motor/ESC combinations for the build.

My goal is to have long flight times. I will be using a Pixhawk FC and 4S 5000mah power.

I believe I will be running 10" props, although this is not definite.

Any suggestions on prop/motor/ESC combos? I won't be using a Gimbal (for now) and again...loooong flight times is the goal.

Thanks guys.

Default Use Chroma Batteries!

Hey guys, being a Chroma Blade owner with tons of expensive 3s 6400 mah Chroma batteries, I went on to see how I might be able to adapt them to the Spyders. I've found you can easily adapt them by making a simple lead as follows.....works perfectly;
