Axon headspeed chage rate
Is there a way to change the speed at which it spools between headspeeds? I like to fly my Velos at 1600 and 2000. When I switch it instantly changes and thats a ton of power slamming into the drive train, I just dont want to break anything.

Can you not set up three flight modes? Maybe go 1600, 1800, 2000

Not sure which tx you use but if it is jeti you can set a time delay tied to flight mode switch.

Same with Futaba. I use this all the time including as a poor man's auto bailout.

I use Graupner, not sure if it has that function. I guess I could just do 3 flight modes.

I have found the choice of esc makes a difference as well. Back when I was flying smaller birds, the supplied Hobby Wing esc responded as you describe, while the kontronik is very smooth when changing between flight modes. I run a pretty large rpm range, i.e. 1200-1980.

I know zero about graupner radios but a quick google search showed...
"Graupner mz-24 PRO and mz-24 Version 2.xx Firmware Release Notes ... Each channel can have its own delay and travel range set depending ... mz-24 PRO and mz-24 Version 2.xx Firmware Release Notes ... Each channel can have its own delay and travel range set depending ..." Seems this would be worth checking out and should cure your issue without spending any money.

This is what it looks like with jeti. Getting there: main menu>fine tuning>flight modes and your in. Hope you find it in your graupner.

What exactly does the delay do? Does it slowly input the command or does it just switch so many seconds after you input?

Glad you found it. Yes, activate it for throttle channel and set delay for 2.0 seconds to start with. You can increase/decrease that delay time based on your results after test flying.

Chad,
If you don't get what your looking for by adding a delay to the throttle channel, see if you can find something labeled flight modes that offers a delay. I'm using a 4 second delay on the retract channel of my R5 and it works as I wanted. Same for the flap channel on my Flex Cessna with a 2 second delay. Not so certain this type delay is appropriate for a throttle. Having a delay on your flight mode switch makes more sense creating a delay for example as you go from fm1 at 60% output to fm2 with a 85% output. I would suggest doing your test with all blades removed. Hopefully, you will get it figured out. John

I'm glad you figured it out. These feature rich radios can be confusing at times. I've been using a Jeti ds16 for 3 years now and learn something new every week with regards to what it can do.

Well now there is another problem, I have tail and head gain tied to flight mode because I need different gains based on head speeds. So when I go to idle 2 now the gains jump up and then fall slowly to what I have set
