A great thread here discussing VTX blades and how they work:

I have not try this blades since I used the sab nitro 650 but when the designer comes to this forum and talk about what went into making this blades that's a +1 for me in my book.

It's very nice to see real work being done for us on the aero of our blades. I've long suspected there was much to gain beyond the past efforts. It's clear much of this is more labor of love than engineering for profit given the limited scope of our hobby pursuits.

That said, I suspect that the VTX blades will sell very well. I've got them on two of my helis and will have them on a 3rd once those are available.

I know someone who left IRCHA with 6 pair of VTX blades. I believe they have changed the market.

There will now be VTX blades and the rest depending on how much money you want to save. It's not like every other blade suddenly stopped working, but these blades are better than other blades in many ways.

I suspect a company like Cyclone will be hurt more than some of the others because they were already charging a bit of a premium over typical.

Typical 700 blades are $120
Cyclones are $130
VTX $160

So for the person already willing to pay a bit of a premium the next jump isn't as big a deal.

That is just my guess.
