Something i noticed on the banshee i didnt like, and have mentioned some times but never found a solution.

Remember back when the tdr was released? White oring carriers, then in 2011 or 12 Jan made the "rocking" head which allows complete rpm range without and wobble of the heli. I remember after flying my 09 heli for a year and taking delivery of this heli with wobble head. When i flew it, for me i found it would pitch up and balloon easier and also in fast moves and back and forth a delay and shake is noticed.

So back then i started to put the 09 white carriers and many followed and liked the flight characteristics.

Well the banshee head, i found was sort of a wobble head, the orings compress easily and then it hits the black delrin block inside the head block. When wobbling the head at the blade tips i had 15mm or more deviation. In really fast tictocs i found it would wobble and have slight lag similar to tdr wobble head.

So $50 of orings later (different dia and duro), ive settled on 112N90 (Nitryl 90 duro orings) and popped them in.

I was concerned the "resonance" phenomenon may have been worsened, but upon first spool up not even a slight wobble was present (the little skid dance can be seen for a fraction of time during most spool ups).

I had to tweak the gains on cyclic as the head is now stiffer. It seems to have same range of movement, but its dampened properly instead of the rocking motion it seemed to have.

Now flight characteristics: oh my, this is what i always wanted, tic tocs like mad, pitch ups reduced, and the feel so natural and locked in.

I would recommend this upgrade to anyone with a banshee, has changed it for me.

yep you had to see it to believe it , it was more locked in than ive ever seen , tic tocs were effortless and sharp , speed runs were more like watching a jet plane doing fly buys , spool up was noticeably better, i will be putting some in straight away .

It looks like the 112 N90 is a pretty generic and inexpensive o-ring.

The 90 Durometer rating has to do with how hard/soft it is.
This ring has excellent abrasion resistance which would also be good for an O-Ring.
It also likes silicone and petroleum oil.

What I don't know is how it's properties change with temperature.
They give it an operating temperature of -40F to 212 F'(-40 to 100C), but it may have different characteristics at different temperatures.

Micheal, what temperatures have you been running yours in ?

Mark , you only need to remove Jesus bolt and following arm bolts to release the delrin bush, i dont even take my blades off when removing the head .

I only run one hard o-ring ( 90dr) as per Banshee owners recommendation and it significantly reduced the chicken dance as well as it tracks like an arrow. The original o-rings seems to be too soft.

Time to have a look inside the head

I noticed that the main grips turn with a bit of a clicking sensation, not quite notchy but not totally unopposed. Is this normal? I was thinking maybe due to needle bearings. Never tested before hitting the ground, so don't know if recently acquired.

Im also testing 112n70 as they are also tighter but more dampning than the n90 but not rocking like the stock ones

Last little trick i found on vbar for head increase i gain on head from 60 to 70 big improvement

i-Gain? Where do you adjust that? I have run 70 total head gain from day 1 as I used the recommended TDR settings.

On expert i think (where optimizers are)
