Default ACCURC dongle to Jeti PPM receiver

This is how I created a PPM servo cable for the Jeti reciever.

White wire = PPM signal wire
Red wire = power about 3.5V
The ground wire is stranded copper without a sheath.








I don't like bare wire

The reciever isn't powered until you pick

System Settings -> Adapter PPM receiver.

You get 3.36V power across the red cable according to the reciever telemetry.

I know that is lower than Jeti recommends, but it works fine. My guess is that its telemetry signal may be a bit weaker, but since I'm in the same room as the receiver I doubt that is a problem.

Unlike RealFlight the receiver is not powered until AccuRC is actually running, so you can leave the dongle plugged in and not worry about your Jeti picking up the sim receiver all the time. However once it is powered up it stays powered up.

20ms and positive PPM seems to be working well.

No soldering and the cable plugs in to the dongle, so I ordered a spare cable with mine just in case.

Cool, I will have to make up a cable myself at some stage, just using the DX8 at the moment while I get the feel for it.

I was just told that this would work as well, so there is no work required at all!

Thanks for the great post...I was wondering if this could be done...picked up the sim at IRCHA but have not had time to even install it...but was not happy that I may have to use my DX8 as the transmitter for the sim...as it has such a different feel than the DS-16

My $0.02:

Didn't know color coding, plus it may be different for different cables, decided to figure it out. According to this terminology,

- sleeve is ground
- ring is power
- tip is PPM signal.

In my case, AccuRC adapter provided about 3.32V unloaded, so Jeti complained incessantly about low voltage - and I couldn't even shut it off because the lowest limit you can set is 3.3V, and apparently the receiver was measuring it less than that.

So, I just took a spare 2S battery and connected it to the receiver (of course, disconnecting the power wire from AccuRC connector) - lo and behold, it worked.

Though, *everything* is different - I'll have to change calibration and channel inversions. I guess now is a time to regret that AccuRC doesn't have a notion of "transmitter configuration" (like, for example, Heli-X has).

Just for reference, my signal and positive wire colors were opposite of the instructions in the thread (must have been a different batch of wire). Anyone attempting this should measure with a multimeter: 3.6V is positive, 1.5V is signal (ppm neutral). The unshielded wire will always be the ground.

You can disable the low voltage alarm in your settings on a per-model basis.

Are you saying that the red wire carried the signal on yours and the white wire was power?

That does seem off. Whenever there is a red wire that should be power.

But your advice to measure to be safe is always a good one!

AccuRC has made some nice improvements and I am very happy that my new DS14 works well with it.

Nice. I was just thinking today that when the new REX receivers are available, I'll pull my R3/RSW and use it for simming.

The wires in my cable were reversed as well:
red=signal
white=power
bare=ground

I spent about an hour trying to get Accurc to work with the Jeti. The wires in my transmitter was also not expected, red was signal.

I have the green leds on the right side of the screen for RX and TX, but nothing happens when I move the sticks.

Tried setting up several TX types, still no joy.

What model TX are you guys using.?

On the side of the screen, you should see Adapter and TX in green.
Assuming you are using ppm, on thee Tx configuration screen in Accurc, you should have Adapter mode set to PPM receiver.

On the Jeti, you should have the receiver configured to PPM output, typically port 3 on the receiver.

From there, you can use the servo monitor on the Jeti and the Tx configuration screen on Accurc to validate channel mapping.
