Optimized setups files

Omerco just wondering if you've tried 3D big heli on a 700 nitro N7 to be exact? I'm going to give it a shot. Any tips would be appreciated.

Just put the optimised 3D file into my Goblin 570.
I never really liked that heli until now... Thanks Omerco, I have taken down my for sale ad and going to fly the backside out of it now!

After my experience with the 570 I changed to the optimised setup file on my Logo 700.
I needed to add plenty of expo into the rudder in my TX to dial it down a bit but I can really see what I had wrong in my old set up when I hit the hard deck now.... it used to be a pretty mushy almost laboured looking level out and lift back up to the hard deck set altitude, now its a really strong and almost instant recovery with no where near as much regaining of altitude required due to the faster control rates I am running.

Tail needs between 40-50 expo if your rates are right.

Hey omerco,
I've started loading over your files and notices these trims are all at -16 is there a reason for this?



I've just done my X3 and had to reset all my trims in the transmitter. Just about to do my G570...

Looking forward to trying these out!

lets start with that i wrote that you have to do your mechanical setup yourself. the trims and endpoints in the files are probably from my helies and have no meaning to other helies or influence on the rest of the setup.

There should be no connection to the trims in your Tx - those have to be zero! im not following why you have changed those??

Ok thanks, that makes sense I just wanted to check.

I found these settings in both the small and large heli files.

The sub trims and end points in the transmitter need to be adjusted to exactly output -100 0 100 for each channel in the skookum. This is part of the setup wizard. For all my heli's and different setups I've always had the same sub trim and end points in the transmitter. However when I used your file all of a sudden all the trims were out.

I didn't notice at first and the skookum goes into and error mode (flashing red led) if the channels are not at zero. I thought there was something special about your file and adjusted the settings in the transmitter and then noticed these sub trims. Now you have confirmed they are nothing special I will go back to my original transmitter settings that work for all my setups... anyway that's why I changed those... it was late at night too...

The part about your Tx setup is incorrect. This is not Vbar:
You should follow the wizards which will guide you to put sub trims to 0 and travels to 100(I reccomand 125 here to get better resolution).

Later there is a "stick scaling" part where you teach the gyro your Tx's centers and full travels - similar to a simulator stick calibration.

Please follow the wizards TO THE WORD. It will save you many troubles.

Yes you are right, my short time with vbar has given me bad habits. I will go back and fix the mechanical setup.

I dig some testing today and some high cyclic oscillations in my X3 and I couldn't hold the tail still with aileron tick tocs with my G570. I will do some more tuning and testing but might come back with some questions.

Just wondering where did you get the value of 32 for the Phase Trim? Is this a tuned value or is it part of the mechanical setup?

There shouldn't be 32 for phase trimming.
That along with all the rest makes me suspect you didn't load the file correctly?

Yes you were right changing the extension from .txt to .sk7 via notepad seemed to corrupt the file. Changing it directly in the file explorer worked much better.

I flew both X3 and G570 on your setups yesterday and they were awesome! They both flew very well! Thanks for sharing these!

Hi Omerco,

I'm just checking for before I load up your 3D big heli file.

Currently I'm flying my 700L Dominator in sport mode on my SK540 for the last 12mths but now I'm finding the heli very spongy and delayed responses, hence your file.

As you have mentioned save my file and simply load your file and that's it ?

The heli is mechanically sound flies very smoothly and stable just response is now slow as I have slowly advanced in my flying in the last 12mths.

G'day Mate,

Save your file, record all parameters either by writing on a paper or by taking photos of the setup screens, then you load Omerco's file and update with your own parameters.

Omerco, here you go this is my setup file for your review...

I uploaded the 3D setup file and put in my parameters I was running previously in sport mode.

Please let me know if anything looks wrong or you maybe your able to taylor it a bit more for me.

I won't fly until you have given it the green light.
