Default Synergy 766 Photo thread!

With the team kits shipping now and the public release imminent I thought I would go ahead and start the photo thread!

I was blessed with a chance to test one of the initial Alpha run kits these past 2 months. All I can say is wow this bird is everything you could want!

Nice Chris!

Can you take a pic of it next to the E7SE?

What are your specs that you are running?

My E7se Speed is still mid rebuild from a crash at IRCHA. But I did take a picture of the main frames next to each other.

My setup on the 766 is:

Scorpion 4530-500
12t Pinion
Scorpion Commander V 160HV OPTO
Mikado NEO /Pro
Torq 9280HV Cyclics
Torq 9288HV Rudder
Pulse Ultra 14s 4100mAh sticks
Rail 766 Mains
Rail 116 Tails
RPM 1660/1800/1960

It's a beast at 1960. I spend most of the time at 1660 and 1800. Super long flight times.

Hi Chris,

I notice in the instructions placement of electronic components isn't covered. While it's plain to see where the ESC and FBL are meant to go, is there a convenient place to put an Rx pack or BEC?

Seeing the 766 by the SE makes the new heli look like a beast! Man, look at those beefy skids.

The bec is easily located on the backside of the esc tray.

Wouldn't take much to mount an rx pack. Could put one on the top of the battery tray if it was small enough. Or on the side of the frame if you had too. I personally prefer a BEC. With current backup guards available BECs are a low risk if installed properly.

I'm a big fan of separate Rx packs on all of my big Heli's and with telemetry I see it as a pretty fool proof system and much less complex than a BEC and a backup guard of some sort (not to mention much cheaper).

It's the only real complaint I have with my E5s is mounting the Rx pack, which I have done under the mainframe at the front to get the c.g. better balanced. I had to source a special pack that would fit but it's not as neat as I would like. Would have been nice to see an area where it would fit easily and still be accessible to remove for storage and charging. Thanks for the info, I guess I will have a look at options when I get around to building a 766, not a big deal anyway.

Thanks Chris! Looks like the 766 frame is just a little taller than the E7SE.

With those head speeds, what are you getting for flight times?

Default Synergy 766 Photo thread!

Well keep in mind I'm a sport / big air pilot so I'm not beating on the drive train by any means. But at 1800 I have my timer set to 6 minutes. I could probably go 6:30 but 6 is plenty of fun!

I will be running a RX pack and as soon as I get pictures after playing around with the best location and CG I will post pics.

Is the battery compartment size listed somewhere? I searched but couldn't find it.

The frame is 64mm wide. I am working on length and height for you.

I can tell you that PUlse ultra 45c 14s 5000s fit with room to spare! The battery tray is mounted high in the frame, as close to the main gear as Matt could get it. You have TONS of room for packs.

Same type of flying here..........I was just curious. I use the efuelgauge on my other helis, so this would get one as well. I've want to go with 14s Pulse stick packs......I'm just not sure what motor/esc combo to run. I'll stick with a Scorpion motor most likely. Castle doesn't make a 14c esc and not really wanting to shell out for Kontronic (I like the active freewheeling though). Are you sure on the 4530-500 Chris? I just looked up some of those specs, and they all said they were 12c......not 14c.

Voltage is limited to heat. All 12s motors CAN do 14s but they will run hotter, and obviously spin faster. I know guys running 14s on 4535-520 motors.

All of the 453X series can handle 14s no problem. The specs on Scorpions page are old.

Both of my machines have 4530-xxx motors one on 12s one on 14s good to go!

That's good to know. I have a 4530-500 in my E7SE and I like how it performs, and I can get 7-8 minute flight times out of it. Is there an updated spec page some where you can share?

Are you using the Neo governor or the Scorpion?
