Flying with a missing gear tooth?
Stripped a tooth for no reason in flight and the mod .7 gear upgrade will only be here on Tuesday due to long weekend and damn Canada Post closed both on Friday and following Monday.
So the ultimate question is, it is ok to fly with one tooth missing? On the bench I don't hear any strange noises when spooling up without blades. The heli is Logo 400 with the stock mod .5 gear train.

Why risk it.
The weather is crap anyway. I took my 600SE out for 1 flight and called it a day. Tomorrow is supposed to be even windier. Now to go discharge all my packs

It is pretty nice right now in GTA. No wind, sunny... perfect flying weather.

Maybe I should make the trip down then. We have 20Km gusting 35+ and tomorrow calls for 40km.
Why not fly the 6HV? You might be Ok on the gear but if it's not you could be into a lot more than a gear to get it back in the air. Problem with a missing tooth it will slip a little in that spot putting extra strain on the next tooth till it gives out and so on. Eventually it will no longer grab and down she comes.
