Neat. I've thought about putting the camera off my quad on a heli for a flight. It's super lightweight. Not FPV but does a nice job of recording and taking pictures. I could rig it to just record video when the power was connected.

I decided to give the same treatment as i had done to my 200srx...

A paint job...

-Everything out the frame!

-Since the frame is out...i boiled it on hot water (reason is to try to not break so often the plastic)....it worked on other rc's!

-Well those cable hanging with zip ties, had to go... cut the servos cables to proper lenght!

-No screws missing

I like the color. Is it caterpillar yellow? That came out looking nice.
Instead of splicing servo wires I'm choosing to shorten mine by making new ends with the Hansen Hobbies crimper . Took me awhile but I've got them looking like originals.I want to put all the wires in black braided covers that I think would look real clean and nice against your yellow frame.

Now you given me ideas. I appreciate your posts.

Thanks!
Yah, i got that snake sleeve...but didn't put cause of weight problems. Those rc's helis are small and any gram added will affect it!
That yellow is leftovers from other rc's (cars). Have no clue then just "yellow". Can is on garbadge now...

Well i like green to on my 200srx

-It flies!

Meanwhile another one of the 230s on air!

Few things...
1) adding color to the boom can really help visually.
2) I only watched the first video but go easy on the stick movements. Small moves means small mistakes. Big moves means big mistakes.
3) don't understand the walking around the model while in the air. Hard to say how close it was to you, be careful. I admit I will hover inverted closer than that to me but not with my bigger models.
4) how many packs you've run is of no meaning. It's about what you accomplish with your flights. Basically...focus on improving not flight count.
5) have fun, be safe, set obtainable goals.

1-Defenitly!
2-Yep! I tame my helis on the sticks. I do not do 3D or aerobatics. I know the feeling, cause of my Nano CPX.
3-I was flying indoors with no wind on my garage. The walk around, well i made it for the video. Usually don't do it. I can't do inverted flights. I am still learning (NOT) orientation nose in...
4-Packs mean experience. But yah, pratice new manuvers and will learn more! After 4 years i still can't do nose in! Lost orientation imidiatly!
5-Sure will. Thanks!

For orientation don't worry about the sticks. Picture yourself in the pilot's seat of the heli so to speak. It's only been a year but I don't even "think" anymore about which way to move .. it just comes naturally. I just started learning inverted circuits though which is taking a bit more time.

You could even fly a little inductrix around to practice orientation. Just remember the white light side is the nose and the red the tail.

+1 on the boom tape. It really helps the visual, especially for old eyes.

Small moves small mistakes was a nugget of gold for me.

Enjoy your progress.

To the OP...
I have about the same time in the hobby as you. Nose in upright is hard for me, at least keeping it still. Nose in inverted on the other hand is just as easy as tail in upright for me. Not sure why

Nice scenery! With the walking and flying and all the trip hazards around you I guess it is good you did not trip. But, I think others have previously mentioned this to you also.

Well, that's why i use and like the FP helis or that style of flying. I never get the brain to fly 3D... so on a FP fly style, i can walk with the bird and show the scenary.....

No trip yet... but could happen...it will be fun to record that on video, tought!

If that happens, please post video. We will try not to laugh ...after we find out if you were hurt, of course.
