Awesome heli man!

I want one

I have a diabolo that i fly light with a pyro 700, 3700 packs and a jive pro esc.

I think putting those electronics on an airframe like this would take it to another level. Im thinking about getting one.

That's amazingly light. It's about what my TDR would weigh if I removed the buffer pack.

You'll get longer flights if you lower your voltage to 8s or 10s. I can get 15min on a 6s5000 with my 600se but it is probably a full pound lighter than your bird since it's 8lb on the nose with the 6s5000 in it. I could get it lighter as I have HBL950/980 in it right now. I really should pick up another 9780 and pop that in it since I already have the mount adapters to do it.

I really like the black and yellow color scheme, sort of menacing looking. Perhaps I'll have to do something similar with my 550. Is the canopy a flat black? What did you use to color the fin?

Cannot be much more happy -> finally have my Diabolo L up and running. Took a few flights today. Weight without battery is close to Danny's while I only have the 5000 mAh stick packs at the moment . So total flying weight for mine with the 5000 mAh packs is 10.6lb.
I could easy shave off 0.6lb if using the 4000 mAh packs. So I may try that next weekend.

OK - after flying the Diabolo L for a few times I did do some more tuning today. Since I do have the 5000 mAh 12s stick packs I still keep using those which does bring the weight a bit up to the 4.8kg. However I was able to work on tuning today quite a bit. Tried different rpm settings and tweaked tail for it.

!!! I am using the older HC3sx on it. So the Axon would be a bit better on the tail. Because of that I ended up with 115 mm tail blades.
My lowest rpm today for slow motion 3d was 850 rpm. Since I noticed minor issues because tail being a bit soft and not holding the way I like it I ended up finding 950 rpm as a good starting point.

My current rpm settings are 950 to freak out the folks at the field a bit, 1250 rpm to actually have some more fun and 1600 and 1800 rpm for the kicking around. What was funny to see for me -> at 950 rpm I stopped flying at 13:40 Minutes. I had pulled 2580 mAh from the 5000 mAh pack at that time. So 20 minutes flight time is doable for slow motion 3d flying.

Thanks for the tour. It could be called Black Light Edition. Love the colour scheme! You don't happen to know if some of the Black anodized parts are the same as in the Black Edition?

they actually are -> you could call it the Diabolo L BE They have been so kind and swapped the parts for black anodized parts. I had the regular Diabolo before and admit I simply love it the way it turned out with the L. It is light as it should be (flying that way is awesome - great agility, less disk load and therefore pretty cool even at low rpm). We often put way to much into our machines. I still have to put a smaller battery in it. I am sure the 3000 mAh like Danny uses is more then enough and the 800 rpm should be doable that way.

"This is a very efficient heli"

That is exactly what I SAID in January 2012 after flying mine. And that was the regular Diabolo.
I am set on building a light edition.
