Thanks guys,

I will get to the bottom of this, eventually - vacation is ending

Weathers been windy so I've rebuilt the tail again, glued the bearings and
spent quite some time in the mag balancer with the hub until it was perfect.

Result: off-the-scale vibrations in the analyzer, that's a no-fly indication...

I just realized that I haven't checked is the shaft, mine came preassembled and I didn't bother to disassemble
- it looked good..

What I can measure though, is that the tail isn't square to the boom..

I just need to find the cause, will report back

If the tail isnt square you will adjust that at the front of the boom... loosen the tail boom block and look down the heli from the rear toward the front. You should have 10-15 degrees adjustment that will allow you to properly perpendicularize the tail shaft.

...I really am useless at explaining

What I mean is:
at zero pitch, the tailblades are not equidistant to the boom.

ie. if I put the blades parallel to the boom I have 27mm from the boom to the bladetip,
rotate 180deg and I have 29mm on the other blade - it's out of square...

Thought I'd bent the hub, tried a new one - same result.

Need to check the shaft next..but now it's glued in...so it'll take a while

Finally got it in the air again yesterday

Changed:
tailshaft - old one was slightly undersize
tailhub - one side bent
both tailgrips - they were different somehow.
tailblades to KBDD - seems to have better 'bite', although shorter.
tailpinion to 17t - the 19t one wobbled slightly + I'm low HS
Bearings again - this time used EZO bearings from SMB UK

Running the belt fairly loose.

Still vibrations, FBL complains 'Extreme vibrations' on ail axis, but subjectively it feels much better than before.

Updated FW in the SpiritPro to 2.1.0 and it flies like on rails

Please check if the bolts that go from the pitch links to the grips are straight. They may had got bent in a crash.

"ie. if I put the blades parallel to the boom I have 27mm from the boom to the bladetip,

The static coning is out, although 2mm is a VERY small amount (probably insignificant).

Swap the blades to see if the problem follows the blades.

If not, swap the grips to see if the problem follows the grips.

Luigi_tuga,

looks straight to me, haven't had any big crashes - a few tipovers while landing...

All was smooth until I bolted the tail on, so it's tail induced - also the spectra point to the tail.

Had some vibrations from the motor, changed bearings in that too.

Ah Clem,

Like I said, I've swapped most parts and now everything is straight.

Also now using KBDD'd you'll be pleased to know
