Thanks Will.

We have a beautiful morning here in MI, and I just put a 12 minute flight on the Tazer 800 with 2 ea 6s packs. I'll charge them back up, put another flight on it with the datalogger to see what kind of power we're pulling.

I'm going to fit the 6s2p packs on there later, get a lawn chair and a cold drink, and see how long she goes...

Are you running 12s2p or 6s2p? What packs (volts, mah), motor?

The 12 minute flight was with 2 ea 6s packs wired in series for, in effect, a 12s pack. These were FP 5350 Mah with a Hacker A50 and CC HV 110 ESC. You can assume a 6s pack means 6s1p.....

I am ALSO going to mount 2 ea 6s2p packs, wired in series for a 12s2p setup. These batteries are FP 6600MAh, and will use the same motor/ESC until the Neu Motors I have on order show up. I will also put 2 ea FP 7400 Mah 6s2p when that order comes in ....

Chris,
I assume the 800 version of the tazer has a longer boom, as with the EB version of the Intrepid gas. Will this result in a modified, longer front tray to allow for shifting ballest forward? Or, will this be unnecessary because the batteries can be shifted far enough to compesate?

Exactly right!! One of the setups that I am testing is battery placement, to preclude the need for additional ballast. The 2 6s packs fit end to end, moving them fore and aft to set the CG and still get the canopy on!!

The 2 ea 5s packs fit side by side, again with a little fore and aft movement to set the CG.

Thanks for the text at 1:40 or so. Right before that I was thinking... "we have a looong way to go yet".
It gave me a good chuckle.

For those curious (Jody and Denny), the next set of batteries are here....OMG!

For CG purposes, I moved the Rx Pack to the rear.

Worked out perfect with a slight nose heavy tendency.

I'd like to get a conversion set for one of my gassers, and a 61 intrepid. How do I get to that, couldn't find pricing on conversion sets on the web (probably to new to be added yet).
What do you need to figure gearing for me? Lets take it to email so the thread isn't diverted.

As discussed in our last email ... you need to call or email Bergen and order the conversion as it is to new to be on the website ... Chris will be able to tell you more about what all you need as far as gearing ,,,when he talks to you and finds out what you are going to do .... The kit will then be special built (gearing and pulleys) to what you need for your blade size , motor , battery setup
His phone number is 269-445-2060

I got a Bergen Tazer!!!!

I won it at the B'ham fun fly last Saturday. I couldn't believe my name was called and am still in shock.

I never thought I'd have an opportunity to own such a fine machine with such outstanding manufacturer support. After 3 1/2 years in the hobby, I now can say that I own the best.

You keep wining each time you go to B'ham, I think last year you won something as well.

Good on you.

Your gonna love that heli Lith, I flew Chris's Flybarless Tazer and man that was cool. Very nice machine and the flybarless NON-Electronic stabilization was very easy to fly and had very good manners ... Even in the wind!!! Emile, eat your heart out!!!
