Default What's the difference between kx015042ta and kx015042a

Hi,

Just joined the ranks of 450 ownership. I have owned mostly nitro heli's in the past (TSK, GMP/Hirobo). Even have an old Piccolo electric just to screw around with in the house and at work :-)

I recently purchased a 450 SE (New) V2 kit. It appears to be the latest kit as it has the dark blue anodized finish and the 430XL, 22C battery, and BL-35X ESC. The thing that perplexes me is that the part number is kx015042ta. The box looks just like what you see on the Align website and has an "official" Trex 450SE New V2 sticker with that part number right on the box. I've Googled that part number and found it for sale on other vendor sites (mostly European) however looking on the Align site I cannot find that part number. Could I have purchased a European only version? If so, what is the difference if any? I live in the states so I would expect to see kx015042a.

Haven't taken it out of the box but I'm itchin to get started. Hopefully someone knows what the score is and hopefully I have a "true" new V2. Kinda waiting for an answer before I start assembly.

Pretty kicka$$ forum by the way.

Thanks,

Dave

Well, I thought it was the blades, or color of the frame, but I was wrong, Maybe it is the market. I know alot of companies market different "number" designating the market country. I dunno ?

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll go inventory everything tonight and start building. I'll find out if anything is different during the assy process and post my results...

Don't try to make too much sense out of Aligns part numbers. They are all over the map.

Congrats Dave. You just got the exact kit that I got. Mine came out of New York. I took a cursory look inside, but not a close look as of yet. Am curious to know if you find any differences.

That's right Fil, I forgot, don't try to order parts with the numbers in the back of the manual..... you won't find most of them.

Slow building (only because I haven't been home lately)...

So far looks to be ok. Even had Loctite in all the critical places...

If you are trying to decypher Aligns part numbers... use this formula.

Code:
ciphertext = 'comhytee';
password = [1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 2, 1, 2]

def decrypt(n, c):
    c = ord(c) - ord('a')
    p = (c + password[n % len(password)] -1) % 26
    return chr(ord('a') + p)

print "".join([decrypt(n, c) for n, c in enumerate(ciphertext)])

Default Lipo

It is the lipo that is included. The 42A comes with a 2100mAH 20c and the 42TA comes with a 2150 mAH 25C. I would assume it is the updated version with a better pack.
