Back in the early eighties I hovered a Kalt Baron 50 inverted. It belonged to a friend that watched me inverted hover my Competitors a lot and wanted to see his Kalt upside down once. It had a Kraft KG-1 gyro in it. It was hard to set up for inverted as the pitch range was very limited. He ended up giving me his Kalt stuff a few years ago and I built a Baronstar 55 from it, so I probably have the only one now in existance.

No worries Rex. Enjoy it. I had to ask.

I have some original main gears that will work fine for low head speed 3D like I intend.

Well today was the day, final flights on the Fusion after 10 years? It got flown hard well as hard as I could without crashing, waiting on one of our members who took pictures of the last flight
It is now been stripped, and packed away
Now to build it's replacement, Goblin KSE 700 hope this one rocks my boat to the same extent, and lasts as long

Just pulled my 10 flight old Fusion out of storage and I am getting it ready to fly again. I was in the market for a new 550 and decided to fly this one until it won't fly anymore.

Curious if you are using the stock battery tray and what 6s lipo's you are using on yours. My Turnigy 6s5000's are just to big with the stock tray.

I dont use a tray. I velcro strap the 5,000 mah 6s battery directly to the bottom frame.

Yeah that is how I used to fly mine too. I am sure you already know but make sure you sand the carbon frame where the straps touch real good. I know a guy that had a small mishap and the carbon frames sheered the straps causing the lipo to slide and puncture which resulted in a nice little smoke show with a lot of melted parts.

I since went back to the stock tray and if I can't find a 6s pack that will fit I will just use two smaller 3s packs.

The bottom frame is plastic and the velcro straps don't touch any carbon fiber.

Is that belt drive?? Mine looks different from yours. I know mine was the final production run, at least that is what I was told.

Yep, custom belt drive tail. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...=5#post6992978
I use Mikado main gears. Mine is the first edition. I didn't realize that the N2 had carbon lower frame.

I like it. I am guessing if I lose the TT gears on mine it will have to go into retirement permanently.

Mikado main gear? Is that a drop in replacement or part of the conversion to belt?

With me, nothing seems to be drop in! I machined the gear itself on a lathe to enlarge the center hole to fit over the Outrage one-way.

On further consideration, I don't think the Mikado gear would work without the belt conversion. The Mikado gear is 153 teeth and larger in diameter. It would likely hit the front crown gear shaft.
Here is a pic of an original gears proximity to the crown gear.
