Default Please Help! - 4#6 with a mind of its own

I'm a noob with RC
helicopters.* I've gotten bored with coaxial heli's and moved on to a
Walkera 4#6s that I put a 45° bell head on to help me keep it in my yard.*
I'm doing ok in my opinion but I get anxious and try to fly it around the yard
instead of just trying to keep it in a steady hover.* In one of my many
fly-in's with bushes or the grass I seem to have thrown something out of wack
and I can't figure it out.* Every time I take off, the
tail*drops*so the heli starts going backwards and it also starts to
rotate.* Almost like a tail in pirouette.* I've taken calipers and
measured*the linkages in the rotor head to make sure they are the same and
even leveled the swashplate.*No effect. I've attempted to compensate for
the tail dropping by adjusting on the tx, but those are about maxed out and
haven't had a great effect on it at all.* This tx adjustment causes the
swashplate to drastically be leaning towards the nose almost to the point that
the swashplate can't travel any further.* The tail still drops.* I've
taken it all apart, measured and adjusted the linkages, zeroed the servo's,
leveled the swashplate, and nothing.*
*
I'm starting to
think that the flybar with the brass weights might have a slight bend in
it.* I can't notice being bent it with my eye, but I don't know what else
could be causing this.* If it were bent slightly, would this cause it the
problem I'm experiencing?* It's never acted like this before, usually when
I zero everything and level the swashplate its hovering like a coax.*

*
Any help or
suggestions would be appreciated

Have you replaced the gears and/or the torque tube that drives the tail rotor? Those things are notorious for stripping and causing the tail to no longer hold. Although, it is a little strange the tail is dropping, but that could be the result of the 3G axis trying to compensate for the rotation??? Check to make sure the tail gyro is working by moving the tail left and right. You should see the tail servo horn moving back and forth and the tail changing pitch.. If you move it to the left, the slider should move to the right and so on..

If the tail dont hold it is possible that the front tail grear that messes with the main gear is stripped. Or if there is vertical slop of the main shaft try to readjust and tight the main shaft collar.

I assume the channel assignments are ok as you said you was flying it.
For the swashplate, try to bring it level first. When doing this be sure to have the RX switch to ADJ position and also the BAL switch off before power up. This way the gyros are disabled so you can physically level the swash and tail servo.
But dont try to fly it like this.
After you are finished return the swicth to WK position and the BAL switch to on.
1)Try to spool up and see where the heli wants to go then trim the TX to try to have it in control.
2)according to the trimming you did adjust the servo to swash links.
If for example you gave positive trim on ELEVator cause the heli was going back then try to lower the ELEV servo-swash link by one full turn. Similar for the AILeron.
3)power up, bind and zero the trims on TX then poweroff. Then power up again and repeat from step 1) until you feel you control the heli without or with slight trim.

Thanks for your help guys. I think I figured out my problem. I'm limited on the room I have to fly which is why I converted from the standard flybar to the 45° Bell. But in doing so and keeping the D/R switch on, I don't think it was letting me correct fast enough before I would crash into some bush or tomato plant. I turned off the D/R switch and noticed that I had more control. The bad thing about this is its easier form me to overcorrect. I'm thinking I'm still new enough at this that my biggest nemesis is the room I have available to learn to fly and not in the actual heli. I'm going to bring it to work with me and attempt to fly it in the back parking lot when the factory closes.
