Had a great day FPV racing in the UK at BBRC on Sunday, I posted a couple of video's already.

In the afternoon for a break from racing, James (JAB1a) started flying his spanky round the forest paths, and I thought I would have a go at following him round, which spiralled into a painful hour or so where I just crashed over and over trying to follow James round, I edited video last night, and it was painful to relive, anyway, here it is.

I went through 22 props on Sunday, most of them trying to fly round this route, I think it was 14 crashes from me, and James I'm not sure if he crashed at all, but if he did it was once or twice only !!

I call my Diatone FPV250 "Flying Oil Rig". The pipe-insulation-foam legs may look ugly to some but I actually like the oil-rig look and the legs are very practical. I don't have to be super careful landing on the stock plastic legs with very little flex. I don't feel bad dumping the thing 1 ft off the ground on landing and let the foam legs absorb the impact.

Playground is always exciting for precision proximity flying. Drizzle day mans there's no kids. I just food-wrap the whole quad except the motors for splash-proof.

Haha! We can even race online and compare times if we use standard size goal posts. I knew I needed to practice my hairpin turns and I found goal posts to be good place to do it.

I have pretty good grip on locking on target with chase view flying (i.e. aiming the camera at the target quad by adjusting its attitude while navigating thru' the flight path) but IMO the tough part is to agree upon an exact flight path, not just a general flight path of "slalom thru' those trees/light poles" (i.e. 1st half of the video) but to agree upon exactly which gaps (i.e. 2nd half of the video). Hope you enjoy the vid as much as I do.
