Default WOW! I found out had bad the stock woodies are!!

OK, I've have some drama with my blade for the past few weeks and today I found out the cause and cure!

I decided to order some fiber glass blades and WOW are they awesome!!

I got three pairs of these:
http://www.helidirect.com/325mm-pro-...50-p-10348.hdx

Man I have a totally different bird now, freaking amazing! My bird is so stable I had to take out expo. I had like -30 expo and so far on just two packs I've given it +10. I may make it more sensitive still.

I noticed these new blades are a tad shorter and a bit wider than stockers. And they are no where near as flexible as the woodies.

NEVER WILL I BUY THOSE LAME STOCK WOODIES AGAIN!! NO ONE EVER SHOULD!!

I had a huge smile tonight flyin my Blade. So much more easier to fly now!!!

Woodies do flex, but are still the best choice for pilots in training. FG and CF don't break as easy, so they tend to do more damage to the head in a crash.

I got sick of putting too much tape on the last pair of woodies. I'm actually gonna take them back to the LHS and see if I can get some credit for them. They made my entire heli vibrate like mad.

Fastflyer, you are correct about the woodies saving the head from more damage. But if better blades are so much more stable wouldn't that cause someone to crash less? A more stable heli gives more confidence to the pilot and would be less prone to crash.

For someone who is able to fly 90 degree FP heli's in all orientations and can hover a CP really well, then I would suggest going with something other than woodies to increase CP skills. Woodies hold you back too much and they cause headaches when trying to figure out where the damn vibration is coming from.

Instead of wood blades I've been experimenting with foam blades from the Thunder Tiger Innovator MD530 - they would do even less damage to the head in a crash.

You have to cut and file the roots, then set your max throttle down (they supposedly have an 1800 rpm limit, but this is for the 6oz heavier Innovator MD530).

Still a work in progress, but here's a couple clips:

Oh yea, you can get a 6 pack (3 pairs) from www.yrbuy.com for $11.95 (plus shipping).

Thats pretty cool! Maybe I'll try them after I go through the rest of my fiber glass blades.

Can you post some pics of the blade root before and after?

Thanks
