Yea but what is weird is watch the tail blades on the auto. I autoed it several times and it was easy but I am not use to a undriven tail anymore

Bob, have you made any "must needed" mods on your Swift or still flying it stock after you finnished the video build ?

If you change out your paddles to the TT greenies the roll rate is much quicker. Also a nice custom motor / pinion / battery /carbon blades combo really opens the Swift up from being such a timid heli in stock form, as confirmed in your maiden flight video.

Yes I plan to upgrade it.

550 SAB blades
Metal head block
hardened spindle
3rd bearing block.

The 600 plus motor with 9T seems fine on 6S. I had to limit my Tcurve to just under 90 to keep the head speed below 2K on the wood blades. I am hoping once I upgrade I can go to a flat 100% and be around 2400 HS...... That's what I am guessing anyway... If not then I will up the pinion to 10T or even 11

Hello Bob,

In your headsetup video, you didn't mention a numerical value for the seesaw to bell mixer arm linkage. Do you know what that mm measurement is off hand ?

You mean the short one? I didnt give it becasue you adjust that until the mixer arm is level with the grip so it will vary but the 2 links are almost screwed in tight together.

Actually it's slower as per my testing and many other people's.
The 20g greenies do get rid of the pitchyness associated with the stock 16 gram paddles though. Cyclic slows noticably.

Yes I did and I have to say putting on SAB carbons made a HUGE difference!!!!
If anyone has one of these I highly reccomend junking the woods and getting a set of carbon blades. MAN it was like night and day!

We rocked the heck out of this heli at 2100 HS with all stock except the blades. Once I get the metal head and hardened spindle I am bumping the head speed some more. I am also going to replace the S3004 standard servos with digitals. The swash is so responsive it needs good centering servos.

Also the tail was slow initially with 100% end points and the lower head speed. I kicked the tail endpoints up to 135 and WOW the tail is super now.

All in all I was really impressed with this heli this weekend now. The blades made all the difference in the world!

Bob - Would you feel safe flying this in the same places as you fly your Trex 450?

Well yes as my field is big enough to support nitros as well. This heli is basically double the size of the Trex450 so it ultimatly depends on space you have.
This heli does require a bit more space so if it's tight where your flying the Trex now it may be a problem. Of course flying ability will also be a factor in how small a space you are capable of flying in.

I fly at a county soccer field at lunch time every day. It's two soccer fields end to end with a lot of extra space on the sidelines. I just have to watch out for the light poles on the borders and the goals in the center when they have them out. I think I could fly a 90 nitro there no problem...lol!

Did you shoot any vids when you "rocked the heck out of this heli"?

No sorry I did not shoot any vids as it was a very cloudy day and dark with possible rain. I will shoot more later though

I think you mentioned to me in a msg that there were a few more videos you just needed to compress for this heli? I'm expecting my motor, speed controller to show up this week and would love any more help you can give.

So far the heli is looking good and I can't wait to finish it and get it in the air!

I just got back from the IhobbyExpo in Chicago. I have pics of the Swift 550 and 620 Carbon SE models and the new alloy tail case. I will post them later this afternoon.

hi, Bob or anybody, i have an swift 16 helicopter kit but i dont want to spend more than $300 on electronics, what electronics would you recommend? I have an Spectrume DX6 but i dont know which motor or battery or esc amp would be right for the heli.

I hope its possible to get the those electronics for less than $300
