Got a chance to trim all the supports out this morning and ended up breaking it. I think I need a dual extruder printer so I can just print water soluable supports. It is next to impossibe to get the support material out of the tip of this thing. I will just stick with the feont part for now til I upgrade my printer

Ive been having this strange thing happening with my tail. In a hover there is a random "kick". I guess that's the best way to describe it. Today while looking it over I found the tail belt was loose, so loose it looks like it could have been slapping the side of the boom. I am not used to belted helis so I'm not real sure in how tight to make them. I got the tail where it feels good but Im still concerned with the motor belts, any advice?

I run it just tight enough that it does not slip.

It does not matter if it slaps the inside of the boom, as long as it does not skip.

The tail on mine holds great.

We all know my record with motor belt tension.
My motor belt tension today is loose enough that if I push on the exposed portion of the motor belt just behind the motor, looking straight down on the belt, I can just push the belt under the aluminum top plate.
Seems to work well...talk to me in a couple hundred more flights.

For my tail belt I have a personal test.
That is, when I set my tail belt tension, I will hold the tail rotor motionless by holding it with one hand and with my free hand, grab the main rotor and try turning it in the direction of normal rotation.

The torque I generate on the rotor will slacken one length of tail belt in the boom and if I can hear it drop down and slap the interior of the boom, I tighten the belt a little more until I can't hear the contact, that's where I leave the tension set.

Took my sexy lady out today and had a blast! The littke tail wag is gone after going down to 15mm for the tail servo ball distance. I actually had to turn up the gain just a bit and it locked in solid. Also tried out 2000rpm today and WOW, what a monster! Best heli purchase yet!

You'll like it Chad...super easy to change. A little quicker response from the stick. Aris has a good write up comparing the two spindle types at: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=745399

Post number 1 has the explanation.

...and as a side note to you trying out 2000RPM.
I tried 2000 a while back also...kinda makes you want to stand back and squint your eyes.
Its pure power and for me I knew right away I shouldn't be flying it.
2000 is bad to the bone. Makes you feel like you're breaking the law.

I just ordered a Bavarian Demon Axon to try out on the Velos. The 3digi just didn't feel right on this model. The BD is one of 2 fbl systems I haven't tried before so I look forward to seeing what its all about

Got to maiden the Axon this morning. Flys amazing but the headspeed is a bit of a pain. Can't just set a head speed and go you gotta use throttle curves in the tx to get it where you want and then the gov locks it in. The heli feels much more stable and the tail is even more locked in with no tuning. Once I get the headspeeds feeling good I think this will be a great unit!

Used a tach and got the headspeed set now. Just came back from flying and this gov makes a big difference in performance. Still some gyro tuning to do but the gov is right now. Im running 1750 and 2000. Definitely need to add some expo on this unit though, it has super fast response!

Forgot to add this was also my first flight with the solid spindle and it definitely adds a noticeable boost to agility!

You can't tell from this picture but it's a protege wagon so there more room than appears . Only reason I got it was so I could fit the helis to go places and get good gas mileage lol! I could barely fit a 700 in my BMW... no way this would have haha
