3000mAh may be too small, but for $50 each I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy them and try. Guess I'll find out when I start pushing it harder I am thinking it shouldn't be too bad since the small battery will have lower disc loading and will let me fly lower headspeed. It actually flies very well at only 2200rpm.

Update: 3000mAh seems to be doing well so far. It's nice and lightweight so it doesn't need much rotor rpm. It flies excellent at 2200rpm, which is very impressive for only a 470mm machine. With some "general purpose" 3D flying at 2200rpm, I got 4:00 of flight time with the battery down to 3.8V per cell. This machine flies very, very well indeed.

Flew my used 500X for the first time today and it flew really well. Question for the folks here; have any of you noticed a little vertical play in the place grips where they attach to the hub? Just wondering if it's normal. I checked the tightness of the thrust bearings and the bolts were right.

do you think 3000 is too small ? i was going to try 2600's to keep it really light ...

I'd say 2600 will be too small for sure. 3000 works but there's not much reserve.

I bought 2600 batteries and get only 3 min and they are a little puffy when they come down. Still going strong after about 5 hours flight time on each battery.

I fly 3300 for 5 minutes and come down around 30% or so.

Are you lifting the heli by the blades and seeing this play? If so you might be just loading the dampers, I havnt noticed this on mine.

This last week I can now do tic-tocs faster and with more collective. However, unlike nice slow tit-tocs, the faster more aggressive ones cause the tail to shake.

I can't figure out if it is too much rudder gain, or not enough. I'm using Spirit FBL, no gov with V throttle curve 85% middle 90% top/bottom, per the manual. Stock servos with HW BEC 8.4V, 330Hz drive.
