Sorry it's not only the 9X. Mine are still working flawlessly btw. I know there were some issues with the SL early on but I'm running two and have had no problems.

The maxima sl will only work with the flash 7 & 8, and the a9x. There is a optima sl coming out soon not sure when but is done and will work with the original a9.

Correct, there is a slew of new product coming out soon, I don't have exact ETA's on those or the Optima SL, but I'd expect to see them sometime towards the end of August.

This Optima SL is good news for sure.
I never made the transition from the A9 to the 9X.
How will we know when it becomes available?

We will have it listed on our website just before it is released to the public for purchase, we don't have an ETA right now though.

So is it a choice of low latency and high res (maxima) or telemetry (optima)? Or will the Optima SL have pretty low latency?

I'm currently using Graupner but have been eyeing the Hitec systems.

You are correct, it's either high speed and high resolution, or standard speed and standard resolution with telemetry.

Default Optima RX

Not 100% certain but according the Aurora 9X review by 2BrothersHobby (4:45 in video) the 4096 resolution does indeed pass through any of the Hitec receivers compatible with the A9X. Your digital servos will need to be capable of the 4096 resolution of course.

Latency is the only difference then between the Maxima and Optima series other than the obvious telemetry. Optima SL is the way to go if your not an advanced 3D pilot.

Hope to find out soon first hand.

The 9X reduces the latency of the optima. I don't think 19ms with the 9X and optima is even noticeable. I was running the Maxima SL and Optima 6 lites and I couldn't tell the difference on my goblins.

Correct again. The 4096 resolution is something all of the Gen2 Hitec AFHSS receivers are capable of (Maxima), but you will only see the maximum resolution your servos are rated to. Standard resolution digitals are 1024, high resolution are considered 2048, ultra high resolution is 4096.

Our 8XXX and 9XXX servos can take full advantage of the 4096 resolution. All of our new D-Series 32 bit digital servos will also be able to utilize the full 4096 resolution.

For reference, our 7XXX servos are only 2048, and our 5XXX are only 1024.
