Default transmitter ?

ive been out of the game for a good while and i recently purchased a spectra g. In the past i've ran JR stuff but this heli is going to be equipped with futaba. I dont have a huge fleet of aircraft(3 heli's and 2 birds) but would like to get the best transmitter to suite my needs without having to buy another one in a year or so and at the same time not spend 1k. id like to stay in the 600 dollar or less range (most user friendly)! so could any of you guys point me in the right direction...8fg, 10cg or hold out for a good used 12z. any input would be great!!!

I'd go for the 8FGH.

Question 12FGH

Is the 12 FGH a good radio? Recently aquired one but have never experienced Futaba radios.
I hope I made a good purchase. I think the learning curve coming from a JR might be a bit difficult it appears.

12FG is a great radio. It may be a little daunting in the beginning, but as you learn how the programming works you will find it is far more versatile than other radios.

What is the difference between 8FGH and 8FGS? I am thinking about getting the 8FG Super and new to Futaba. I saw some referring the 8FGH. I think it might be the same thing... Can someone clarify? Thanks.

Great radio. These may help a bit:

The videos use a 14MZ, but the logic and steps are the same. All that differs is the way you access the menus,

Just a bunch of Futaba videos here:

The "H" on 8FGH indicates that it's the helicopter version of the radio, without the throttle ratchet. (8FGA is the version with the ratchet). The model names for the "Super" version are 8FGHS and 8FGAS.

The only physical difference between the 8FG and the 8FG Super is that the knobs on the sliders are slightly longer on the Super, which makes them easier to move from the ends of their travel. The Super also came with the v3 firmware from the factory (which made it 14 channels), but you can put the same firmware on both radios.

Is there a difference between the airplane version and the heli version beside the software and throttle ratchet? My local hobby shop only carries the airplane version and if it is easily converted then I would prefer to buy from them.
