Default Anyone running an EOX 2222-1970?

Curious if anyone was running one of these and see what the opinion of it was, fitment, etc..

Thinking of taking my current Xnova motor out of my mini and putting it into a Gaui X3 tri-blade and throwing the EOX in the mini-P.

Does that mean nobody has tried?

I plan to try it. Haven't figured which pinion I will need yet.

Isn't it a bit high KV for the MiniP because of the high gear ratio?

The stock 6s motor is 1300Kv.

It's an in-between kind of spec. The 6S used a 1300KV motor and the 3S used 2580KV motor, so you are mid-way between and you may struggle to gear it with a 3S or 6S - perhaps if you were to go 4S or 5S you might be OK.

I tried a 1700KV motor on 6S with a 13T pinion and unfortunately it was very over-geared so my packs struggled .....

Finding conflicting info on the main pulley tooth count. Couple places say 120 and another says 93?? Believe the P500 has a 95 so maybe that's where the confusion came from.

Anyway...
The smallest pinion is the 13t Lynx solid, if the pulley is 120t then you'll have a reasonable hs range between 60-70ish flat thro curve. If you have the stock YGE esc or another that has active freewheeling those curves shouldn't hurt anything but all my helis seem to fly better when I gear them to get the desired hs at 75-80% flat since that's where all the motors I've checked say the best efficiency is given. 60-70 isn't that far off the mark and today's motors/esc's work well across a broader range than the older stuff did.

You'll be around 3500rpm at 70 flat which the Mini can handle but it will be pretty aggressive at that hs.

If the main pulley is 93-95t then that motor isn't going to work very well.

Truth is you really don't know for sure until you try. Had things that look perfect on paper suck, and things that don't look good on paper absolutely rock.

The EOX motors are damn good so I think there's a possibility that setup could work, but not guaranteed to work great. Flip a coin, could rock or suck...lol

Experimenting is one of my favorite things to do in this hobby, if you already have everything to try that setup than all you'll lose is time if it doesn't work

Thanks. Things to think about. I have this extra motor and though it it appears to work great in this bare 360cfx I just built, bought two of the motors, it won't be the best for Gaui X3 tri-blade I just picked up. So, I thought I would take the motor in my mini and swap to the Gaui if the EOX worked well in the mini.

Maybe I just need to pick up an Xnova for the Gaui and be done with it. Still may try though.

Honestly once you account for drag ect the hs will probably be lower than 3500 @ 70% flat. I wouldn't be afraid to try it out, especially if I already had the motor. Just make sure the main pulley is 120t not 95 first.

Main gear is 120t.
That's really high kv for a 6S mini prôtos.
Headspeed will be very high.
Max theoritical headspeed is something close to 5k rpm... (with a 13t pinion)

Yes around 5100 at 100%
Just run at 60-70flat where the desired hs range would be, not 100%

Although with the YGE esc you may run into trouble when going to setup gov store mode since it ramps up to the maximum rpm with the lipo at 4v per cell.

Certainly don't want to ever get close to 100% throttle and it could be overgeared enough to have overtemp issues or mass bogging.

Can't say I've tested anything in that direction, only the opposite. Massively over geared a low kv motor for high hs on 3s and was surprised how well it worked

Yes I ran this motor on my x3 with a hw50. I ran governed at <3000 rpm but not sure where my curve was at. Everything came down nice and cool. Got 6+ minutes on a 1200mah
