Thumbs up KDE Direct XF Multi-Rotor Brushless Motors - Now Available!

Hey Everyone

The KDE Direct XF Multi-Rotor Brushless Motors are officially here, with pre-orders shipping tomorrow morning (01/29/2014) worldwide. The motors passed through our QC inspection and they are simply beautiful - very proud of the design team and the production group, these motors are extremely smooth, high-performance, and scream quality from the second you open the box, to the time you get to see, hear, and feel the performance in-flight.

The motors are now available direct through the KDE Direct website at:

http://www.kdedirect.com/XFMultiRoto...sProducts.html

After pricing and production reviews, we were able to lower the release price for our customers. The three motor versions available are:

KDE3520XF-400, 14-Pole: $107.95
KDE4012XF-400, 24-Pole: $114.95
KDE4014XF-380, 24-Pole: $118.95

Full specifications are listed online, as well as additional pictures and design presentations (soon to come), videos, etc. All the fun stuff we all enjoy...

- All windings are using the highest-grade, 240C high-temperature solid-core copper – no chance for any temperature-related failures and extremely high-copper fill.
- All windings are secured with a Kevlar-tie wrap across all legs of the stator – no chance for a winding to pull-out and short.
- All magnets are true N45SH or N40UH, high-temperature, high-strength Neodymium for highest-efficiency and torque output.
- All bearings are Japanese EVO or NMB, oversized and triple-bearing support shaft – no worries of bearing failures.
- All motors have the shaft retained with a collar – prevents any worries of shaft pull-out due to cheap snap-rings.
- All motors use 0.2 mm, Japanese-built silicon-steel stator laminations – highest efficiency and lowest losses (highest grade available).
- All motors use dual-prop mounting patterns – M3 x 12mm x (2) for the DJI style mounting, as well as the standard M3 x 17mm x (3) for the prop-adapter.
- All motors include the items shown in the images – M6 prop-adapter, DJI mounting plate, M4 x 25mm mounting plate (for airplanes and aftermarket multi-rotors), as well as bullet-connectors and mounting hardware.

Here’s the largest design factor no other brand will have (until copied of course) – All motors use a Universal mounting pattern for the motor.

- The motors have four methods to mount the motors! M3 x 25mm x (4), M4 x 24mm x (4), M3 x 32mm x (3) (DJI S800 EVO), and M2.5 x 32mm x (3) (DJI S800).

As you can see, every single detail of the motor was scrutinized to produce the absolute best, and they are the best, hands-down. Thanks to everyone's support and hope you all enjoy this new level of performance and quality for your multi-rotor applications!

Forgot to ask... How many cells are these designed to work with?

The motors are designed for 4S-8S operation, and primarily used in most applications with 6S, since the majority of the flight-control systems are 6S limited for BEC input.

We just released the announcement - here's a link to the e-mailer: http://conta.cc/1exk68X.

Are there plans for smaller motors?

These look lovely, but they are only suitable for the largest multi's... What about the countless hundreds of smaller 8-12" propped mid size multi's?

Yes, we will be further expanding the line in the near future, just wrapping up the launch of the XF "G3" series for RC helicopters, then we'll be expanding the Multi-Rotor line shortly after.

The initial motor versions soon coming is the KDE3510XF-440 (for 6S), and the KDE3510XF-660 (for 4S) for the smaller multi-rotors.

The KDE3510XF-660 could be interesting for me, do you have a rough eta and idea of weight?

No current ETA, the motor is still in development - I would estimate this series to reach the market in the late March to early April time-frame, maybe sooner.

The weight calculation puts the motor around ~95 grams or so, depending on how much copper we can pack into the stator.

Speaking of people copying KDE, check out what t-motor has been up to lately (see attachment)! They are really scratching at the bottom of the barrel with this and have taken copy and paste to another level If you feel threatened, I suppose it's easiest just to copy who you feel threatened by right?!!! It's really sad watching them straight up steal KDE's tech review when you know they're lying to customers. They're claiming to have the same materials in their motors and everything. T-motor just made my sh#$ list!

Bit daft, T-motor make good motors so don't know why they can't get someone to write their own advertising.

I'm guessing no one speaks English as a first language and the "intern" was given the job of putting it together and took the easy route out lol.

I don't think KDE will be too scared
