I got an old stampede (#3606, #3610) with rx/tx that was given to me by my co-worker. everythings working except a broken front shock, toothless transmission differrential gear, missing spur gear, to make it short, it was ready to be thrown away. Upgraded the spur gear to be used with a slipper clutch component, repaired the shock and replaced the diff gear, bought a battery, and now she is running. I think the new stampede were made to be compatible with the old version (with some mods). I will post picture soon after I painted the canopy/body.

I've got an old stampede that I've made brushless and have done a bunch of upgrades so it can handle any jump you can throw at it.

Also have a ruslter VXL that does the usual 60mph.... but honestly the stampede is so much more fun!...even though it only does 40mph.

Very excited to find a Stampede section on the Freak. I have a VXL and and am really happy with it. I love that it uses the same lipos as my Trex 450.
Traxxas has recently made a new esc mount that holds the esc and a new waterproof reciver box, for anybody interested in running in snow or wet conditions.

If you haven't seen the Youtube video of the Stampede VXL with homemade snowchains its worth a look. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HR61DgRpAc[/ame] I think I may do that next.

I was given an older stampede with the titan 12 brushed system. I did the trade in for a VXL system through my LHS and it cost about $110 for the swap. I did the wide pede mod for the front section, RPM 2 stage shock mod, changed the pinion to 25T, Changed tranny gears to metal and I won my first race last weekend. This is my first outing with an RC car, I fly mostly helis and planes. My wife was surprised when I told her the news..she thought I was fibbing until I showed her the plaque.

I got a Stampede that originally came with a Stinger 20-turn brushed motor, Ni-Cd batteries, a 27mhZ radio and a mechanical 3-speed speed control.
It is amazing how far this hobby has come in the last 10 years or so.

There are some cool looking pede's here.
I was so board of not being able to fly this winter, so I bought a Traxxas Stampede 4X4 VXL just to get my RC fix.
And I got to say, it is allot of fun this car. Made a video of me driving it on a local spot that my friend and I found to be a really nice place to bash our RC trucks.
I just got Adobe Premiere and wanted to play around with the footage taken that day.
