Angry 130x skids discontinued

Picked up some spare 130x parts at my lhs and was told the landing skids are going to be discontinued soon so from horizon, just a heads up if anyone needs a spare.

The 120S uses the same skid.

Right thread. The 130X and the 120S use the same skid so I can't see them discontinuing It.

Maybe they are relabeling the part as a 120S skid.

The 120S/130X skids are very different, but the 120S skids will probably do fine as a replacement for the 130X...

Using the 130X skids on a 120S would leave you wondering where to put the battery

http://www.horizonhobby.com/BLH4180?...tsfinder#parts

Bottom of the page for the 120S, landing gear part # is the 130Xgear.
BLH3706.

But if you owned a 120S...(or two as I do) you'd know better and order the BLH4112 Battery frame to go with it

I do not want to come off as disrespectful, but why would I want a battery frame for a 120S on my 130Xs?

The part number BLH3706 is the 130X landing gear.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/product/...-130-x-blh3706

The OP posted that the 130 gear was rumored to be discontinued, but is still listed as a 120S service part.

Is the 120 being discontinued? I do not follow those forums.

Not a problem...and I see that ebay is marketing the 130X skids for the 120S...for which I assume they are contending that skid damage will not affect the 120S battery holder from the original 120S skid

Probably not a part-swap design, just a remake to utilize existing parts on the newer 120S model

After what was likely a record breaking production run in the Blade world, they recently discontinued the antique 120 SR and replaced it with the 120S.

So 120S parts will likely be around for many years to come.

Just a tip.

I take the 130x skids and bend them up towards the body actually get them around the body. I also bend them at all points of the risers so they become very flexible and end up having a wider stance.

Now that they have been stretched a little they will take a hard landing without breaking.

This, I have a ton of them. Nice to know though so I can use them up as much as possible without chucking one prematurely after one break

It's misleading if you look at the picture of the 120S on the bladehelis.com website. It must have been a prototype as it doesn't show the battery holder which is a separate part from the skids that mount to it and then to the frame. It also shows the older 120SR blades with the white bottom. They are thinner and don't work well on the 120S. I tried some and it gives it a very noticeable wobble. The picture on the box is the same way when you buy it. It doesn't match the real 120S inside with the thicker blades and the battery holder slung underneath.
It does make it nice in that you don't have to remove the canopy to change the battery anymore. Lynx and Rakon also make CF updgrade skids. I have some on one of my 120S's. I'm sure they would fit the 130X since they bolt right on the 120S.
