Horus firmware update nightmares.. :(
So, as the title states i went to update the firmware on my radio finally to the newest frsky os.
Downloaded the file, put it on the sdcard under firmware folder, put it in the horus and held down the scroll wheel while powering up. It erased fine, went to flashing and says "Failed!" Uggh, now i have a brick. Any ideas? Ive tried copying different firmwares etc with no luck. Tim |

This is the error. Regardless of firmware version.

Ugghh.. crisis averted.. bad sd card apparently. Formatted a new 4gb card with FAT, created the folders and put 1.3.01 on and reflashed and it worked. Back to happiness... Nothing like a good bricking scare.

I'm pretty sure these are literally unbrickable, the boot loader is on the stm32 chip, you can't kill it.
I've become a master Arduino bootloader flashing. I must kill one a week on other projects.

I "bricked" mine when switching to opentx. Power butting was completely unresponsive.
No biggie! Apparently they cant be bricked. RCGoups had me back up and running in about an hour.

Well thats encouraging! As it goes, the moment that happens, a failure when flashing, the wheels start spinning fast. Thankfully it was solved quickly, honestly that was the first sd card id ever had go bad with anything. It was bound to happen eventually.
Its good to hear they have protections in place when it comes to "bricking" though. Tim |

FrSky seem to have a large supply of bad SD cards! Just had to replace mine in a new Taranis after it corrupted itself and then lost all the sound files an hour after restoring them.

In my case, i dident get an sd card with my radio. It was a new smaller card i had bought. It seems to work for other things still, just not in the Horus. Guessing it is a lil picky about the cards it works with.
