You'd be smart just to use the pitch links...I went through this 6 months ago..
You don't need the servo links anyway, it throws geometry off.

Servo to swash links are fine. I just need the swash to grips links. Couldn't get tracking just right with stock links and seeing how stock links will be $10 plus the ride I was thinking of upgrading to turnbuckles.

I use Heli option turnbuckles, they seem to work well with the stock links. If you search in this section there is a thread or two about turnbuckles for the pitch links.

Update: Perfect day to fly. 82 and sunny with a light breeze. Took the Max out to the flight line and pulled the pin flag out of the Gryphon BEC. Got about 5 seconds into the boot and then everything went dead. Still not sure what happened...triple checked everything and have had it wired the same way from day one. The good news is now I have a reason to dump my old YGE and get a HW160

Are you thinking back EMF that would fry the BEC?

The cyclics are brand new and had been working flawlessly in the setup and bench testing . I used my flight packs during setup too so there was no change there either. Naturally, I'm out of town for the week so troubleshooting is put on hold for a bit...

Got partway through rebuilding mine, and managed to snap both swash driver links and bend the bottom bearing block trying to get the bearing out.

More parts ordered...

On the plus side, the carbon boom looks amazing. Related, how is belt tension supposed to be set with it? The hole for the tail box is slotted so I could pull it back, but I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm using the middle hole on the belt tensioner and the spring isn't putting any tension on the belt. It needs to be a bit tighter to get the screw lined up with the hole.

You tension it the same way you do it with the aluminum boom. Loosen the side clamping screws and the two screws in the "spine" to free up the boom block to move.

Oh, duh. I got it in my head somehow you pulled the boom back in the clamp, not slide the whole plate. I blame not enough sleep.

Thanks!

Got my 700 back flying again. I was going to sell it but changed my mind. Primarily because it's easy to work on, that's hard to find it seems. Anyway, got a hw130 and a scorpion 4525 520 for it.
Came in at a little over 12 lbs with 4500 pulse batteries.

Kenny had a really bad day at Rotors over Denver..
Had several "freaks" here today and the only thing we can figure is "it went dead".. Don't know why but some said they never heard a heli hit this hard...anyway, wifi here is too slow for pics but it was my green 770 Evo.
I'll upload pics when I have a stronger connection.

One if those crashes huh , my first max v2 experienced one of those. That crash takes the protos crashes well statement and threw it out in the trash. Man there was very little left. Basically the centre Hub and main grips, and the tail box and a few pieces back there like the side members that hold the tail shaft bearings. Everything else and I mean everything else was smashed or bent severely. Mine was a 13 lb bird and it did a nice long fall into hard earth. Badaboommmmmmmm , dust cloud and the grusome crunching sounds. Now recently my logo 690 what a pile of crap
that is. I messed up some low pyro flips and it's hit the deck at very low speed. It's demolished man. Just stupid. I smashed many goblins way harder than that and they crashed better. And I crashed many times other birds like the way the logo crashed and often times it was under an hour and under 100 dollars back in the air.
