With a 150X you'll need the app for at least check that the channels travels and reverses are as expected. In fact, you won't be able to bind it to your transmitter if throttle channel is not properly set. However, the app is free, so I wouldn't be too concerned by that.

Since I don't own a 150DFC I can't compare it to 150X. Regarding 150X, ,which is the one I have, although it had/has some important software issues that at least can be skipped (and perhaps have been fixed in the last software release), it flights great.

Get a 150x and stay away those cheap 150dfcs in the classified since they're so sophisticate and an be easily ravaged by newbies. With much advanced app you can tweak almost everything of 150x, it also has a powerful new motor and better tail. Other than that it flies almost identical with 150dfc in 3d.

I suppose you refer to Shuttle XK k110s. I don't know that heli, but I know some buddies that have a Shuttle XK K120 and they say that it flies awesome. If you don't consider to use the 150X autolevel feature nor are interested in its configuration capabilities, maybe a XK120 may be a good value. Much more inexpensive, very stable but great sport and 3D flying style capability.. as least this is what I've heard from a lot of people.

just a quick update, I did buy the 150x and it is the sweetest little heli I ever flown. it feels like a big bird for sure. I found a used one for 140 so now I have 2, they are sweet for sure in my opinion.

In acro mode i think there is less lateral movement during yaw with the 150x GRS. Older 150 has lots of lateral movement with yaw. I have both 150 and 150x and upgraded so both have GRS.

150X flies much better IMO. I didn’t like the cyclic or tail feel of the 150 DFC and was never able to fly it to the best of my ability. The 150X on the other hand feels much more natural and flies a lot better.

Align change everything on the 150x.
Repair
Parts cost on 150x are 1/4 the cost of 150 Dfc. 150x parts are modular components so it makes it super easy to R&R parts..
Control
FBL controller went from 150Dfc 3 axis to 150x 6 axis. 150x has Better control and bail out with 6 axis.
Upgrades
150x or 150 Dfc upgrade to newer 150x parts for improved flight.

The XK k110 is generally only available from China - at least at a reasonable price. The BNF is usually $50-70, although easily 2x that if you buy it on Amazon. An excellent starter micro, as the RTF version is only around $100 and comes with a decent Tx.

Main differences between the k110 and k120, other than the very slight difference in size and weight...

The k110 is 1s, and is nearly indestructible if flown on grass or dirt. Literally you might need a 5 minute repair every 50 crashes. With its 6g features and ruggedness, it's great for a beginner, but it's also great for orientation practice in a tight space with stability turned off.

The k120 is 2s, and a more aggressive performer, but you will strip a servo gear on about 1 crash in 3. Great flyer but definitely not a beginner heli.

Is there any hinting that a new model will be released soon? I searched really hard but to me it doesn't seem like it, however, I've been away from the hobby for awhile.

just window shopping

The k110 is S-FHSS. Not any way to fly it with your DX6 that I'm aware of. Tomtop has been selling the RTF version for pretty insane prices though.

Motion Rc is presently out of stock on alot but carry all the XK Helis. Excellent company, in the states. They said they'd have stock again soon. I know this is side tracked from the original topic. Wanted to let people know.
