Default Vcontrol (case options)

I'm wondering why Mikado does not sell all of the case options apart from the radio? I have the plain black one (not many options back then and I knew I was going to get a wrap for it) but would like the option to change it. If I could get the case separately I would get the yellow one for sure. I would also like another plain black one and have it hydro dipped.

Am I wrong in thinking others would like the option of being able to change out the case?

I think you can call them as I've heard people getting them switched but it more expensive than one would think and I think you have to send radio in.

I've opened my case to adjust stick tension and swap 2 switches and I can tell you it would not be an easy job to swap the entire case.

If Mikado can do it for a price that's not too high, that would be my recommendation.

Since it sounds like you don't mind buying a 2nd V-Control, I'd get a yellow one (I like that color best too) and then do the wrap to your black one.

I also like the colored grip sets but the cost is too steep for me to justify.

Black works in Canada since you guys don't have 95-100 degree days in the summer like we do.

If I had a black V-control and accidentally left it in the sun, it would be melted and probably malfunctioning in about 20 minutes.

Ahhhh...... with the humidex, it was 97F here yesterday!

I use the original black VControl. It doesn't melt.
I do put it in it's bright yellow case when not using it though.

Wow really, I guess a week straight at at 40 to 45c in Liillooet BC where I spent my later teens and earlier adult years is not Canada weather, That would be 113F for the Americans. Come on we do not live in Igloos buddy. Don't leave your radio out in the sun is a simple and very good solution as in the old days that was a good way to crash , heat really effected the old radios in the late 70s early 80s. I have nothing against all these blingy colors if that is what you want. I like black is all and that has been the normal for radios over the last several decades. By the way in the plus 30c range here for this weekend, hope my house does not melt

Truthfully it comes down to liability.

While it is possible for customers to switch a radio to a new case, it is labor intensive and incorrectly connecting the unit back together again safely is of huge concern. Mikado can at least keep QC tabs on every unit that leaves their facility in the odd case of some issues down the road =)

We really wanted to offer the option to sell spare cases but the insurance costs are just too great a cost for us.

If you DO want to have your case exchanged, Mikado USA can do it for you at a flat cost of material & labor. Contact us directly through the site if this is something you're interested in!
