3 blade head?????
Would this be a good idea for my DFC 600 with YS60SR. The the YS60SR makes really good power but would it be enough to push 3 blades?

At your own risk. Use the lightest set of blades you can find. 3 Blade puts a significantly higher load on the system from the extra drag alone, let alone the extra blade weight.

Don’t use two sets of 2 blade blades (rip English). You need to use specifically made 3 blade sets... not just for balance reasons. Using blades designed for 2-blade heads on a 3-blade heli would result in lots and lots of bogging and very slow cyclic. I’d actually try some 550ish size blades which should result in a similar thrust as 2-blade 600 and similar load on the engine. I’d look at the SAB 570 Tri-Blade set. They’re actually 540s, which should as I said result in similar load on the engine.

Cyclic will be very fast. You might need to increase collective pitch a little to gain pop back as tri-blade typically loses some collective pop and not to mention the blades are 60mm shorter.

Is it worth it with the blades being 60mm shorter? Will I reap the full benefit of 3blade set up?

With nitro, it's unlikely that you will anyway. Even a powerful engine such as the YS won't even come close to electric power... and think about it, you're adding a third blade. 50% more rotor mass, 50% more drag.
~550 3-blade would be your best bet unless you don't mind lots of bogging and possible stalling... I would really recommend against simply buying two sets of blades made for 2-blade heads. It will fly, obviously, but probably not very well.

I'm looking for a more locked in feel or more stable. I'm not going to use other blades. With the 540 blades will I noticed that the heli is more locked in?

Hi, perhaps do a search in the Goblin forums. There are a number of discussions about 2 vs 3, size of blades, setup considerations, feel etc.

Yeah, it works.
I have the YS 60SR with the Hatori SAB-1 pipe w/ 30% nitro With 3 600mm blades, it is marginal. I converted to shorter blades using a Trex 550 tailboom assembly and bought a set of the SAB 540mm Blackline HPS3. The picture is the 600N (CHP 600N DL frames) with the 550E tailboom kit installed. The SAB 540 blades are the lightest I could find. Before these, I was matching blades by buying two standard packs and then weighing and balancing them. The pictures show Zeal 550mm blades. These weigh a ton and they killed what little performance I was getting. Even with the SAB blades, It still doesn't meet my expectations The biggest change from 2 blade to 3 blade is gyro gain - the cyclic needs to be tuned down by at least 50% from whatever you are currently running Also, the heli has a more locked in feel on cyclic. It stops cyclic as soon as you center the stick - there is no overshoot. And starts as soon as you move the stick. You run a lower headspeed too - but not by much. It works a whole lot better on a 700N with a YS 120SR-X
