Default E550 Flybarless

Hi,
I'm currently flying the E550 on the stock Ace Ripper OBL44/11 1150kv motor. Lately, I've been having problems with the heli which I have proved to be the motor. Is there an upgrade to the stock motor which I could consider or am I stuck with another Ace? I have been looking at Align motors but they all seem to be 6mm shaft diameter, whereas the Ace is 5mm. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

you can fit a HK4025 motor for the E550. however, you will need a scorpion 6mm pinion. or you have to buy a 5mm shaft option. I believe it is a 1100KV motor but double check it (I am not sure). Happy flying stay away from align crap, you will regret it.

Thanks Hawk208. I've found the correct one so I'll give it a try.

Hi MickeyS,

What did you find and do you use now as replacement motor?

Cheers

Hi Rex,
I haven't actually tried to fit the Scorpion yet as it needs a little bit of persuasion. It's 4mm wider in diameter than the stock motor, but I'm sure It will fit. As soon as I've tried it I will post on here with the results.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Which Scorpion motor did you get?

The older stock motor OBL46/11 is 2 mm wider than the OBL44/11. So I gues your Scorpion would fit.

I am thinking of using Kontronik PYRO 600-11. But it has 6 mm motor shaft. Anybody has experience with it on Raptor E550S?

Cheers
