Hell yeah. I love my 600l dominator. Essentially a 600 pro with the upgrade kit. Had it a bit over a year and half now and still love flying it !!!!!

Congrats dude. Its a great flying machine!!

I am really starting to miss mine as I used to fly it a lot in the last 5 years. I think I had passed the 2000 flight mark as there was barely any factory parts left on it. Now I had a servo ball failure (one of the long ones for the front servos) one week after the top main shaft bearing disintegrated in flight. After the very bad luck strike, I decided to put it aside and try something else and now I am sporting a Logo 600 which I really like. But lately I have been getting some ideas about fixing my good old friend. That airframe, although not perfect, allowed me to learn almost everything I know, and gave me a good 2nd place during a local competition and to be honest I have been feeling kind of guilty for letting it go that easily

PS: I really don't understand Align's decision to just let this heli go. With a complete redesign I think it would sell well for those that don't want to pay Mikado or SAB premium prices but still want something acceptable.

HoHo 2000 sorties that's serious flying!

Indeed, don't see any big improvements on the latest kits. They really should have fixed/improve the design. Add some new ideas and they would have had a proven concept in a high visible quality product.

Even Mikado keeps working at their now pretty aged frame concept, no shame on improving what works.

is just KDE left which have good tuning parts!

With a better set of HV Electronics, top quality bearings, Motor, a bit bigger boom, 105mm tail, 620/630 rail or vtx mains: this bird would be a real competitor

With the exception of boom and tail blades? The 600l dominator addresses these..

815 855 hv servos and 750mx motor and bearings - apart from owb all bearings have been good to me.

Afaik the dominator has the same boom and tail blade size as the previous Pro and DFC models. There are 2 issues with them, one being that the main-tail blade clearance is barely enough for 600mm blades so you can't fit any blade that is even slightly bigger, and second that the tail with 95mm tail blades and "normal" headspeeds is prone to blow outs and due to the boom size, fitting 105mm tail blades without any additional mods is not safely possible.

I fly my 600l dominator at higher headspeeds ( read into tail blowing out when i first purchased it). At 2400-2450 headspeeds governer works best and smacking the shit out of it on 95 tail blades and stock boom dont get tail blow outs . It was designed for high headspeed with low rotor to tail ratio so you just need to fly it that way.

If your trying to fly lower headspeeds then totally agree!

But with 750mx 12s and high headspeed this thing sings!!!!

It wouldn't take much for align to redesign boom length to provide more flexibility to setup and better tail authority at lowered headspeed

Hi Nabl74,

what packs do you fly and with the 750mx what average flight times do you get at 2400?

Getting a rewound 700MX myself so was wondering what to expect.

Yeah a boom extension to fly 620/630 and tail 105's would be nice, certainy as you can compensate cog with a bit bigger packs

Zenrg 3300 60c.
http://www.zenrc.com.au/product/zen-...mah-22-2v-60c/

Everyone at my club gets them from zenrc here in melb ( our local goblin / synergy and protos supplier). Lots of punch.

I get 4min flights at the moment with lots of tictocs. Bat get down to 3.75-3.8v / cell , thats about 20-30%.

Used to get 4:30 but my flying is getting harder.

What kind of Amps and Motor Temp are you getting? Just curious as you fly the edge 80.

The most peak I have hit on my 750MX and ICE 2 80A is 120A but it was only a peak and the Castle can easily take it. Motor was fairly warm, you could keep your hand on it for about 2-3 seconds after a hard flight which was a lot better than what my 600MX did, where you could barely touch it without pain. ESC on the other hand was very warm, almost to the point where it was hot and definitely ran hotter with the upgraded motor.

Agree!

But esc and speedy heat is very dependant on pwm and timing settings.

There was a thread on how to set your esc pwm and timing called 600l governer or something similiar were someone went through various setups and testing for best gov settings including logs .

I ended up using those settings and my edge hv 80a was never really hot just warm.

If i had to estimate flight nos on the 600L it would be averaged around 6-7 flights a weekend for 15-16 or so months, so for me still sub 500 (prob around 400-500 so far).

Other than that the 600L has been my trusty turn to heli. I fly it back to back with the e7se or 500L.

Heli is crash free so far (only had to replace head dampers, front transmission gears, upgraded OWB to Lynx version to get rid of locking up). I also installed the reinforcements around the 3rd bearing block location and installed the bottom frame kde reinforcement to further improve frame flexing. (apart from general dissassembly for ongoing checks of bearings etc).

Other than that stock with brain gyro and still loving it!.
Yes it has its design oversights but doesnt stop it singing !!!

Still having a ball with mine.

It is a workhorse. Keep the head speed up around 2400 and she flies like a dream. Easy on the batteries (4:30 to 5:00 flight times) and easy on the equipment.

Just plain fun. I haven't had any problems other than those caused by unplanned events of getting a little too close to the ground.
