Oh wow... that plug in tail is genius. I HATED having to route those wires through the tiny boom. Then to solder on hair folicles! Not to mention disturb all your wiring up front. That was some great thinking.

Align just precomps the elevator to make up for the weight bias. Its not perfect by COG on the bench, but it works fine in the air because the computer fixes it.

This helicopter is probably the most smack-a-licious helicopter on the market. The power to weight ratio is epic. Its tiny, but it smacks super hard. The nose or tail doesn't drop when the blades bark and it feels balanced. That's all I care about.

Red face 2 Design Improvements

Align 150X Design Improvement

Suggestion 1
Put a drop of glue or solder a wire on the circuit board FWD stand offs. Handling or hard landings crack the solder circuit board trace. Repaired this circuit Bd trace many many times with a copper wire tied & twisted above and bellow the circuit Bd and solder in place.

Suggestion 2
Rotate power wires 90 degrees FWD so the canopy is not in contact with the red black power wires. Vibration and canopy are a big problem so solder the red and black wires so they stick out FWD and not to the RH side of the GRS.

Bring on the flight videos! I hated my 150 DFC so, I hope they got it right this time! I liked my mCPX BL's for what they are and, my 180 CFX was awesome. I really want to get away from Spektrum and Blade though...

Red face Align 150X Flights

New Align 150X test flights

TREX 150X test flight 01 (3 min 27 sec)

TREX 150X test flight 02 (3 min 33 sec)

Looks like they have the 150X flight worked out on that new GRS 6 axis (3-axis gyroscope plus 3-axis accelerometer) FBL controller. So it should be ready for production.

Do you have any pics after the fix was done? I have a non working board after a hard landing and would like to try the repair job thanks

Oh this is fantastic. I've moved away from small helis, but this might end up finding a place on my shelf.

The android app for doing the fbl settings isn't in the play store yet.

I never jumped on the first one because of the heavily mixed opinions, some thought it was the best micro ever, just as many though it was the worst. So far this one looks really impressive both feature wise and flight wise. Still I'll wait for user reviews, pretty expensive which I'm fine with if it doesn't have major issues like the last one apparently had. I just need it for the front yard.

Maybe I am missing something here, but to fly the moves as in the posted video above, wouldn't one turn the six-axis gyro stabilization off? Or am I getting this confused with the six-axis gyro of the WL Toys models which have 'stability' and 'acro' modes.

In other words, wouldn't the original T-rex 150 fly just like in the video?

Default Out of Stock

I got an email from Align TRex Store saying it was in stock, but their site still shows it out of stock. Heli Direct says "available soon." Is the 150X available or not?

They are in stock at Aligntrexstore.com

I suspect by the end of the day the website should be updated.

An update: The first batch is sold out.

I'm answering my own question here. I looked at the 150x manual and it seems to indicate the "six-axis" gyro operates all the time, not just in a beginner's mode.
