Exclamation JR Telemetry

I'm planning to get the JR telemetry modules Temperature Sensor TLS1-TMP, Volatage Sensor TLS1-VOL and Motor RPM sensor TLS3-ROT. I have aN XG8 TX with RG7318X RX.

My question here is how do i connect all three sensors to the RX. Do i have to get the DMSS Telemetry Adapter TLS1-ADP and connect it to the Xbus port of the RX or is there any other alternate means to connect the same.

Please throw some light on the setup and configuration of the Telemetry Sensors .

Thanks

Have you looked into the Unisens-e?

I'm interested in hearing the updated telemetry options for the XG8.

You will plug the adapter into the Sensor port next to the xbus port.
The JR telemetry is great. On my Forza 700 I use:
Altitude alarm
Mah consumption alarm
Amp draw
Main pack voltage alarm
Rotor RPM

It's very nice not using a flight timer.

I also run a CC bec pro in conjunction with a optipower ultra guard. If the the bec drops out and the ultra gard is in use. I have a alarm set on rx voltage. The ultra guard runs around .5 volts less than the bec. Which it auto detects the voltage on startup. I don't look at the screen while fying, but it is nice to have a alarm for failures.

That one has a lower volt and amp limit.

On my 700 I use the Unisense E sensor.
It is one sensor that gives RPM, Vario, Amps, Mah draw, Main pack voltage, barometric altitude.

You will also need the USB cable to program the Unisense.

Did you order the Unisens E from there? Do you have any sample logs or screen shots of the radio you could show us?

Thanks for the info!

The Jlog works well too, easy to get in the U.S. through HeliDirect to name one.

I had it working really well with Jives, not so well with Castle but I think some others have gotten that ironed out.

Default JR Telemetry

Could you show the wiring of the Jlog or Unisens E?

Trying to grasp the concept and a picture would help a lot...

The wiring of the Jlog depends on what ESC you are using. Best to go to the site and figure it out from there. Kontroniks are very simple but something like a castle requires an adapter be made. Unisens-e is inline between the ESC and the batteries.

Jlog site. http://j-log.eu/jlog2-en/

I am using a Castle 160 on my Jlog and it works well. I didn't have any issues setting mine up? The radio in the photo is an XG14 which is what I am using as well.

Hello gents,
I am using Unilog2 telemetry, with a current sensor. It works well and gives main battery voltage, current amps, consummed mAh, altitude. It works awesomely on my XG8.... apart from a detail: after autorotation, the displayed data is like "frozen" until I start the engine again...
It's annoying because the remaining battery capacity goes back to the configured default value (5000 in my case) until I spool up the engine again.
I would like to this value BEFORE restarting the engine...

I firstly thought it was a start/stop problem from the Unilog2 module, but after having analysed the records, it appears that the module remains on and is transmitting the values even when the autorotation is activated (throttle value at around 10%).
Then I release the throttle from autorotation (10%) to off (0%). The display is still frozen. When I spool up the engine again (50%), the displayed data makes like a jump to current values.

So it seems that the radio that freezes the display upon activation of autorotation... which is annoying.

Any of you has a solution about that?
