Default AR7210BX on turbine

Well now that my trex 744 is laid up. I thought I'd convert to a flybarless system.

Thought of using the ar7210bx... Does anyone have any experience or comments on this?

As I have commented before, with the BeastX mounted behind the mainshaft as far away from the turbine as possible, I had a tail glitch with the canopy on but not with it left off so concluded it was concentrating the sound rearwards towards the unit.(Wren44/Trex800)
When I changed to Futaba and used a separate receiver and Microbeast in the same position the glitches went away. Read into that what you will.

I would suggest you try it with the canopy off to start with and be wary. Tail glitches are liveable with, cyclic not quite so.

Picked up a ar7300bx. I'll give that a try.
So the consensus is to mount it on the back with a forward facing turbine. Don't put it under the canopy? Anything else to remember?

I have a 3D printer so I might make an acoustic box with foam? Not sure if it's needed with this unit. I haven't found many threads on this topic.

Btw.. Still have my wren 54 predator. I checked the clock on the ecu. Only has.... Wait for it... 5 hours on the clock. Not bad for what.... 10 years. I start it maybe once a year and run it for 1 tank just to make sure it still works. Haven't started it this year.

My Predator 54 is the same, i fire it up about twice a year and it starts up no bother.I'm thinking of converting it to flybarless.it seems the flybar has had it's day.All my flying is electric flybarless now.

I'm converting my 744 as the threat shows, but I'll keep the 54 flybar... A reminder of "old school" flying. 😊

It's a real monster. 20 pounds of turbine fun! When I start it up its almost scary how loud it is.

Glad to hear these monsters are still around.

There's nothing like the sound and smell of a turbine in the modelling world.
