I have a tip for building: (excuse if it has already been pointed out in the thread)
When installing the main gear/shaft, take two screws out of the bottom bearing block on one side, and loosen the other two. Pull the bearing block down. It will sit at an angle but thanks to the elongated holes it will not be damaged. Install the main gear and shaft. Once installed, put the two screws back into the lower bearing block but do not tighten all the way yet. Push up on the bearing block whilst tightening one side, then push up on it again when tightening the other side. This will reduce any up and down slop that you can't seen to rid of with shims. I ran out of shims and still had up and down play. I loosened the screws on both sides, pushed up on the bearing block, and tightened them up. Play was gone. |

Page 11 head assembly doesn't show To add any grease for any of the bearings in the head, is this correct?

Also on page 11 the order of the washers around the bearing are confusing. Of the 2 different sized washers on one has a inner grove where the other one has a lip on it. The picture shows "bigger inner grove then smaller inner grove" but only one has that inner grove.

Mine came with half the thrust bearing already installed in the heli if that means anything
so Ya'll looking for the other half of the thrust bearing, check your grips! |

So I bent my torque tube just putting it in the boom. I put lubrication on the o rings to help slide it in but it took some force from my hand sliding it in and I realized when I had it in it had bent from me putting it in. What did I do wrong?

missing a washer
Page 10 of the book shows a thin washer and thick washer that go above the ows. All I have is 2 thin ones. I have searched on my hands and knees on the floor looking for a thick washer thinking I may have dropped it. Did something change or am I missing a vital part?
*edit* for the love of god I just got up and saw something shiny on the ground....

you may not need any of the washers I did not need them though I put a thin one between the two gears as I thought the bearings would work better.

Just pin the TT ends and be done with it.
See this thread on how to do it. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=606355

Little to zero slop? Can you elaborate? So I shouldn't have normal small amount of gear lash where the main gear just barely wiggles on the pinion at the highest point?

Do it with the bushing on bottom. If you try it the other way, it will bind if you tighten the screw too much..try for yourself
