A year ago 14s would have a been an easy decision for me but looking at the way the industry is going we may not have any 7s batteries in the years to come. With the heli market in decline there's just not enough demand for them. I wouldn't be surprised if the major lipo factories discontinue them. They seem to be more interested in making cells for the FPV guys now. I'm going to use up the 7s packs I have with VTX 717 but after that I may well buy 6s packs and drop down to VTX 697.

Well I use 14S on my Chronos with 696 rail blades the problem was that with 12S my YGE 160hv beeped sometimes which was given me an unpleasant feeling. So changed to 14S and everything is working great now. So if I'm going to buy a logo 700 it will be the one with 697 blades and 14S. The shorter blades will probably suit my flying style better and I already have 14S packs. I highly doubt they will discontinue since there is also the 770 and 800 market.

Finally ordered mine today.

VTX 697 kit.

And I went with the 13T Pinion, because I don't fly smack.

I'm going to fly F3N with it and 2000 rpm will more than enough.

Is this the right pinion if going 13t? (I am a bit new to Mikado - it says M1?)

Nope, thats for the other Mod 1 maingear.
You need 05010

Its a slightly different pitch to the 500/600 mod 1 maingears
