Goblin 500 makeover

Well, I am updating my Goblin 500 finally.

Hobbywing 120v4 and Ikon2 controller replace the YGE120lv and skookum 540.

Only issue is the cables from the esc are about 2" too short. Time to get the crumpets out and make some extensions. If I flipped the esc around the motor wires would be too short. No way to win on this one....

you can use the extension from hobbyking with the hook, they are pretty good

btw, how do you like your gobin 500 compare to goblin 570?
i am thinking about selling my brand new 570 kit and get a goblin 500 sport instead

i started with a 570 then picked up 500.

i enjoyed it a lot but it flies "smaller" than the 570 and i ended up sticking with the 570 and selling the 500

I just sold my Goblin 570 airframe...

I just can't get enough time at the field for all my helis.

For me the goblin 500 is a great single pack platform heli with enough presence in the air. If I'm going to charge 2 packs per flight, might as well just fly my 700....

Single pack on a 570 I think is too much stress on the power system. 12s is better for me....

Well, full success! Maiden flights were very connected! The elevator bobble was gone!

Just a couple of observations..
1) the stock brain settings were almost perfect. So much ski have no idea where to start...

2) hobbywing esc telemetry is off and the soft start was really violent. It loosened one tail blade bolt.... I need to check the settings and likely check for a new update.

The whole setup was nicely locked in.

Hmmmm. Italian heli and controller a match made in heaven???
