Default Castle Ice 120 HV cutting out

I am having an issue with my ESC cutting out. It is not voltage or temp but appears to be something with the throttle input. Can some please let me know if they have seen this before?

Thanks

That is weird, I would recalibrate the throttle and try it again.

I tried to recalibrate my end points and the same thing happened at about 4:30 of the flight. I let it sit for about 30 seconds and it flew again for about another 2 minutes and cut out again. Any input would be appreciated.

Might be a good idea to call Castle in the morning and see what they think.

The throttle signal to the ESC is dropping out.
  1. Try another receiver.
  2. Is the receiver getting brown out?
  3. Is the receiver going into failsafe?
  4. Replace the wire and plug coming out of the ESC going to the receiver. Get a servo cable replacement and use that. If you are using a servo extension or quick link that could be the problem.
  5. Does your transmitter have a problem – loose wire to the throttle pot or some other problem?

Just trying to think of all the possible causes. If you have another radio that may be worth a try.

If all else fails CC Tech Support may be able to help. CC has excellent Tech Support.

Mike

the only possible problem from your list could be the wire from the ESC. The receiver is not going into a brown out and the transmitter is a 12X that i use with other helis without a problem. I think I will try CC in the morning. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the input

I'm having the same problem. Any progress on this? My Castle log is also showing a throttle signal descrease that is coinciding with what appears to be the ESC cutting out. My throttle signal isn't dropping all the way down though, which is what's weird, so I don't think it's a physical/wiring issue.

im havin this issue as well on my goblin 630. but in a hover i give a lil pitch pump, n it lowers head speed n i crashed n broke the skids. not even 30 seconds of flight. seems like, with blades off (no load) it worked perfectly, but in a test flight, doesnt work..

Sounds like you have a bad setup. If the throttle curve goes to 0 then the motor will cut when you try to do a pitch pump. Never fly with a throttle curve that goes to 0 or you are asking for a crash. 0 throttle is for shutdown after the flight.

+1

Though with my issue, I'm running flat %100 in governor mode. I calibrated the throttle end points several times too.

Happened again today. Twice one right after another. This time, castle logs show NOTHING. This is really frustrating.

hey, so my issue was that with blades off (no vibration) it was great. but when blades were on, the servo extension from the esc to the ar7200bx was loose n thats why my throttle was cutting in n out. i hope you guys get your problem fixed! also, after doing that, it flew great! but during a tweaking flight, the tail servo horn screw came out n i spun violently n broke my skids again! lol after i just put new ones on today. so please please triple check all screws! i totally forgot about that screw.. (bought heli used)

What did your castle logs show when the throttle was cutting out?

Interesting. Thanks! I'm gonna check my extension. I don't have anything in my logs that helps me. But I'll check the extension anyway.
