Default Spirit throttle channel issue (futaba/kontronik)

This is the 4th spirit I've set up and I've never seen this before.

My equipment:
Jive pro 120, 14sg radio, 7008sb rx w/ Kontronik Telme

My problem:
No matter what I do, my banks switch is controlling my throttle instead of the throttle/pitch stick.

Initially the throttle and banks channeled were unassigned in the spirit fbl.
I assigned throttle to channel 1 and banks to channel 7 (in the fbl).
In the diagnostics tab and the channel mapping page all channels move iperfectly with my sticks and my swash moves perfectly. The only issue is that the diagnostics tab and the channel mapping page are lying to me...... they are saying that the Spirit throttle channel is being controlled with my stick when really the stick does not tell the esc anything. The helicopter only spools up when I move the banks switch, even through the diagnostics tab says the banks switch has nothing to do with throttle.

I am very confused and would appreciate any help I can get.

Try to isolate the problem: forget about banks initially, unassign banks channel and see what happens.

Moreover, explain the wiring you have between Receiver, Spirit and ESC...

Spirit or Pro? Inverter cable or not?

Hello,

make sure that channel mapping is in default configuration in the unit.
In Futaba it is important so that when you enter the LNK/FUNCTION menu it looks like:
1 AILERON
2 ELEVATOR
3 THROTTLE
4 RUDDER
5 GYRO
6 PITCH
7 BANKS

Then all will work well.

Yes those are the exact channel assignments in my futaba radio. That isn't what they are in the Spirit channel assignments but the instructions say that doesn't matter. All that should matter is that my stick and switch movements on the radio make the correct channels move in the correct directions on the diagnostics tab.....and they do. Specifically, when I move my throttle stick up and down I see the throttle and pitch channels moving with it both on the diagnostics tab and the channel mapping tab. Also I see those channels moving similarly on the monitor screen in my radio. The same goes for my banks channel moving with my banks switch.

So basically everything moves and works perfectly on my diagnostics tab and on my monitor screen. That's why I said it is as through the diagnostics tab is telling me lies. The spirit unit is telling me that the throttle stick is moving the throttle channel in the spirt unit, yet when I move the stick it does nothing to the esc. The spirit unit is telling me the auxiliary switch is controlling the banks channel yet when I flip the switch, the motor starts spinning.

I've got a regular spirit with an inverter cable that runs from the 7008sb rx to the "RUD" port on the spirit. The esc has to cables. The "master" cables runs from the master port on the esc to the "AUX" port on the spirit and the "slave" cable runs from the slave port on the esc to the rx (I think as a back up power supply to the rx).

In my spirit unit I've tried the following:

Unnasigning banks - banks switch still spins the motor

Swapping the banks and throttle channel assignments - this made the throttle channel move with my 3 way switch and the banks channel move continously with my throttle stick.

What I can say for certain is that this spirit unit is only allowing channel 7 to talk to the esc and it is only allowing the 3 way switch to talk to channel 7

I would not connect the ESC 2nd power wire to the Receiver, to avoid ground problems. At least, I read several times this.

Both to Spirit or both to Receiver (I am not familiar with Futaba but I think it will work with any combination, just electrically better like this).

I think I just found a solution, but it is not what you suggested.
In the function menunin my radio I now call channel 7 throttle and channel 3 aux2. Now my futaba radio functions look like this:

1. AILERON
2 ELEVATOR
3 BANKS (aux2)
4 RUDDER
5 GYRO
6 PITCH
7 THROTTLE

I then swapped the throttle and bank channels in the spirit to make it match the change in my radio and problem is now solved. When I move my throttle stick it moves the trottle channel in the spirit and spins the motor.

Im just a little nervous because this doesnt match what you suggested

Hello,

normally for Futaba S-BUS connection you will need just channel order that I written in the radio and in the Spirit Settings - General/Channels in this way:
Throttle - Channel 1 (optional)
Aileron - Channel 2
Elevator - Channel 3
Rudder - Channel 4
Gyro Gain - Channel 5
Pitch - Channel 6
Banks - Channel 7

Basically both are default settings, except that 14SG can on its own swap two channels (Gyro Gain and Pitch) if you selected MULT1 or MULT2 modulation.
Then it will simply swap these channels.

Channel numbering does not matter, if you are getting movement so that for example Aileron is moving with Aileron then all is OK.
So even with your settings it should work with no problem.
