Just make sure you install it with the bearing facing backward - i have heard otherwise doesn't work so well...

I will maiden it with castle 160 (because I only know how to setup castle) but will switch to YGE as soon as I can figure out YGE setup.

Hi, I am lucky enough to fly with a few guys that already have the yge160, so they helped me set it up, with the vbar. I would also recommend the link that has been posted!!
I'm using the 11th pinion and HS are 1600, 2050 and 2150, also just put some Rail 696 blades back on and with the higher HS they are my favorite over the Edge. I guess you would say my flight style is "manic" and the Rails feel more responsive and quicker..

Unfortunately I have been having some power loss issues that haven't really been sorted yet. Basically at a random time during the flight, if I really load it up say with a big tail slide and hard stop, the power cuts out for a second and then goes into like a soft start.
I have tried a few things suggested and it hasn't happened for the last 5 flights, but it's in the back of my mind and does hold me back a bit. I thought it was the one way, but after the mod same problem, and I would have expected more of a violent restart once the slip grabbed again rather than a soft spool up.
Anyway I hope your setup goes well and I'm sure you will love the yge.

Did you try changing your PWM? what are you using now?
Calculation says 12 and this has solved similar prob for a friend

Hi, yes I have tried different PWM settings and currently on 12. I did have another "power out" but this time I found the grub screws on the motor pinion were loose and it was spinning on the shaft. I live in hope that this was the cause all along, but it doesn't really match the symptoms (slow spool up) each time. Can it be as simple some red loctite:-) we will see I guess.

yep - the slow spool up points somewhere else... i would try YGE forum

Fitted the Extra Long 4530 scorpion shaft to my 800mx today cut it down and put the flats on for the grub screws, sorted



Love the scorpion shaft because you can easily pop the circlip of and take the motor apart

After having a good 30 odd flights with the 800mx 520kv motor, on a 10t pinion at 2100rpm it feels GREAT! Bags of power, doesn't run to hot and I get 5mins with 25% to 30% left in 5000mha 30c Optipowers.

I would say mild 3d with tic tocs and fast pie dishes. I recon I'm quite good with the pitch tho as I get more flight time on my mates Helis as well.
One thing I have noticed tho is after I've landed the drivetrain spins for ages and AGES! Compared to my old Trex 700.
So I recon it all adds up.
I'm also using the pitch boost (Vbar) which costs me about 20 secs of flight time but not to fussed as I like the feel

Hate to revive a 3-year-old thread, but I snapped the shaft on my 800MX today, just a fairly tame rainbow.
Lesson learned and Scorpion XL shaft on the way!
