Default Just a reminder

Don't forget to frequently check the screws on your heli! Was flying the other day and while testing the control surfaces before takeoff noticed something odd in the tail. The screw that secures the hub to the tail shaft he backed out allowing it to slide on the shaft. Odd thing was I was just thinking that I needed to check all the screws and planned on it when I got home.

Glad I saw that loose hub before I took off!

That's a good reminder. I'm usually flying with a screw loose even if the heli is fine.

I just had a tail grip ball come completely out during flight. Noticed the sound difference and landed and the other one was a few threads before coming all the way out. I just recently went through and took all balls off swash and grips and used red loctite on all my helis. I guess I missed those.

I never did that until the 500. Apparently there is a grease-resistant Loctite where it shouldn't matter that much but I buy mine at Walmart so I doubt that's the good one hehe.

Haven't had issues yet with any of my helis. Although I don't have too much flights on them and many times they end up having many new parts

If you use the paste and apply it in such a way, you don't have to clean with alcohol. But that is mostly preference.

I'm using vibratite which is supposed to be ok with oily surfaces but it only takes a few seconds longer. I pour a good bit of denatured alcohol and dip each screw and wipe with a rag. I started doing that with my 470 LP build.

Also always check each screw after the first several flights. I found 2 loose screws on my synergy after the first 2 flights. And 1 on my goblin. It's so easy to miss one or have one that didn't cure right

My Oxy3 came down yesterday with it's tail push rod support dangling from the tail push rod.
Looked very strange as I landed, luckily all good on the landing.
Always good to double check again and again, or is that a triple double..lol I am hungry , in-n-out anyone?
