Default Status light doesn't work?

I've got a Spartan DS760 I purchased from readyheli a couple months ago.

The bright status light shines brightly most of the time, but sometimes (like right now) the light is very dim or not even on. The gyro still seems to function normally, but it acts like there is a bad/intermittant connection or something with the light.

Has anyone else ever seen this? What do you suggest I do, send it in? Is this most likely an problem with just the light that will not affect anything else, or is there a chance the gyro may have issues?

Thanks

Yeah, the light is completely out now. I'd seen it dim and blinking like a bad connection before, but now it's just completely out. The gyro is still functioning though.

It makes sense to open a support ticket with Spartan to get it checked out.

Ok, I've decided to finally open a support ticket and get this thing checked out. I've flown it a lot since the status light has stopped working, and it doesn't affect flight performance. It just bugs me that I have a defective product ...I bought this new from readyheli on 6-7-09, and within a month, the light had started dimming/flashing occasionally like the light was going out or had a bad connection. I just thought it was somehow a power supply issue (I was using a Medusa BEC).

QUESTION: Do they expect me to pay return shipping? It's worth it to me to pay shipping one way (~$15), but if I have to pay both ways, it won't be worth it...

Are they going to fix this gyro and return it? They don't send back refurbished models do they?

Why does it seem like I'm the only one to get a defective Spartan? This is such a PITA because it was on a 450 Pro, and I had to dissassemble nearly the whole thing to remove it...

I am sorry to hear about your trouble. For warranty repairs we will cover the return shipping. We repair the customers own gyro when possible (in your case it is very likely to be) or replace it with new when repair is too complex to do within reasonable time. We never send refurb gyros as replacements. Instead we make a refurb gyro sale every 6-12 months where any gyros we managed to repair at a later time are sold clearly advertised as referb to people who want to grab a bargain.

Cheers,
Angelos
