Default Warp carrying case

Just wondering if anyone knows if the Warp will fit in a Trex 450 carrying case? I have one that I am not using and the internal dimensions are 27" x 11.5" and about 5.5" deep. If I remove all the Trex-shaped foam, do you think the Warp will fit? It wouldn't be a big deal if blades and/or canopy have to be removed to make it fit.

Thanks!

Did anybody find a good case for the Warp?

Would a Blade 450X case work with some foam modding?

I could not find an Aluminum case that would hold the warp with the canopy. But I did find this bag and ended up ordering it.

If you don't mind removing the canopy, this aluminum case looks really nice. And cheaper!

When I did some research on this case, I think the inside length measurement was just a tad short with canopy.

I have a non branded 450 size case for my Blade 450X.
The warp fits perfect without the canopy but...

With canopy, it will fit with the sponge removed and leaves about an inch on either end for clearance. This is no good so... with the sponge in, it just isn't going to fit.

You will need to cut a small slit in the back for the tail fin and about an inch in the front for the canopy.

When I'm totally finished my build I will do this.

Some pics...

Can I ask you for a favour? Could you measure the interior dimensions (without foam of course)? That'd be great!

I have one of the cases from HobbyPartz and without foam it measures 675mm (L)x225mm (W)x215mm (H) and the lid give an extra 27mm of height when closed. So I don't think the Warp would fit with the canopy on even with the foam removed. Canopy off would work. JCL mentioned he found a rifle case at Academy sports that worked so that could be an option too. Like Shogun says, cardboard boxes work, just put some foam in the bottom and you're done! If you're looking for something really nice I bet Diviner could construct a 'Team Flux' case that we'd all be tripping over ourselves to get our hands on.

Seeing how many people are looking for an actual case for their Warp I would think Compass could have some made and would probably have as hard of a time keeping on the shelf and the Warp kits themselves.

If Diviner, other than time travel, can provide teleportation of the case to Italy, I'm in!

Jokes apart... please please somebody do a nice shiny case for the nice shiny Warp!

How do you cut the foam so clean, especially the depth?

I was thinking the same thing. That looks like it was a precision factory cut made especially for the Warp.

I've never tried it but heard that you can use a carving knife. So after you carve your Xmas turkey, you can go ahead and cut some foam.

I googled that case and it said it's got pick and pluck foam.

It is already partially cut. Small cubes that are tacked together on all sides. There are 3 layers of the cubes. I made outline and pulled unneeded cubes. Pulled all three layers as there is still a full top and bottom layer. Have place for 3 batteries but no batteries in checked luggage which is where this is going tomorrow. Have spare blades and then some hardware and basic tools in the pouch. Have a little 6 amp charger which is fine for these 1300 mha batteries. My wife has carry on that has the radio and I have two batteries. Ready to go.

Merry Christmas all,

On the iPad again,
JCL

Yep "pick and pluck foam" is proper term. I used marker to outline and had at it.
