The Beam E5 booms arrived today. The one I tested with the new style tail case fit perfect. The old style tail case should work fine also. The boom is 555mm, 17mm OD and 16mm ID. I can not wait for the rest of the parts to start coming in now.

I may have missed it but what’s the advantage of using the Beam tail as opposed to just using a Trex 500 tail when stretching the Chase?

IamCxZ,

The E5 boom is perfect. Well worth the extra cost in shipping.
After doing the mod for C420 w/ G420 gearing the Protos 500 stretch boom is about 4-5mm too short. The P500 booms works but it is short going all the way through the boom mounts in frames. E5 boom will remove the fear of a failure here.

e92.M3,
The Trex 500 belt will work on a stretch but I`m talking about the boom. I don`t think a Trex500 boom fits the Chase.

Old Trex500 boom is 16mm, new is 19mm.

I tried a joke, didn't translate well, sorry

I suck at getting jokes. Sometimes they go right over me.

The old style Chase tailcase fits the E5 boom better than the protos500 boom.

Thanks guys.

Clearly i switched the T500 boom for the belt when stretching. So now it's the P500 (which is a bit short) and the Beam boom that is used instead.

I think i should just avoid reading all of your posts about this coz it's been making me "itchy" to do something. I was supposed to ask how much is the Beam boom but never mind. I can't really do any mods with my first Chase as I've been using it as test mule for something. And second one that i just bought is not shipped yet.

The P500 stretch boom is fine for doing a 380 stretch.
