I like the weight savings. Concern would be on hard landing survivability.

Anyone compaired these to the stock ones?

Hi,

depends on the ground you are flying.
On gras could even be better because it's
thin material and si it can sink into the ground at hard Landings.
This is impossible with the original one.

On hard underground you have no damping rubber
like the original.

So I can't make a clear statement.
But it looks really cool because the nose is closer to the ground
and the tail has much more free space compared with the original.

Cheers
Marco

Lower part count is always a plus.

I have them on one of mine here at the shop, they are surprisingly stiff, HALF the wieght, get the tail in the air and I think they will be OK in a hard landing.

I had some machine oil in that hole that I found on accident. My thread lock didn't hold. I was trying to fix a vibration and had the tail off a million times. I love the machine though.

I made a stencil of the original skids in case of a crash. I can make 9 sets for the price of one of the originals.

I used thread lock on grub screw and tail pin the grub screw is still in the tail shaft i took 3 weeks to build this heli went over everything atleast 3 times somehow it still came out it wouldnt be such a big deal if i had a good paying job but i saved for 2 years to buy this heli its a design flaw in my opinion that grub screw should not be the only thing that holds that pin in and im getting sued because it smacked the side of a ladies car door at probally 50 mph its just a wreck thanks for the empathy it made me feel a little better to know someone feels my pain

I had some Goblin 380 skids I wasn't using, so I put them to good use!

How do they perform, ie during landing & take off? Did you make any modifications?

They perform great, no issues with takeoff or landing, but I've had plenty of practice since my 380 and Speed are raked forward the same way. Actually feels more planted since the stock setup feels like it's on stilts.

I had to modify them a tiny bit: enlarge the front hole and drill a new rear hole. Took all of 5 minutes. I'd say it's worthwhile mod if someone likes the look - it's cheaper than the official HD carbon skids, look aggressive, and Goblin 380 parts are in such abundance that it'll never be out of stock.
