Default Hot Summertime batteries :(

I do AP with my 600 copter. Last year I took a trip to eastern Oregon for the day and the batteries were in the trunk. One of my 10s sets(2x5s) puffed a little and lost their electrical integrity only from the heat I believe. Thunderpower replaced them, thank you.
Now if batteries are kept too cold they dont do well either.
I'm thinking of buying a cooler just for the lipos and put some ice in the bottom with the batteries safely sitting on top, maybe.
Anyone have any experience with keeping lipos the right temperature when its blazing outside?
Maybe one of those Peltier driven coolers?

You don't want to ice them, just want to keep them in the 80F range. Somewhere around 130-140F is where you start to damage them.

What I do is put them in a styrofoam cooler without ice. That prevents them from getting too hot in the car.
